@blackblades:
Devil's third is not an exclusive, so I don't think that is necessarily the case. However, wouldn't you rather have an exclusive that is awesome, rather than a multi-platform turd?
No freezing here, but mine has Mass Effect 2 on it.
Should have gone with PC people! :)
Bring back Itagaki and fire the managment responsible for loosing Itagaki in the first place.
Problem solved!
That is why I don't think MS cares to release digital only games. That market is rapidly growing, but the demand for it is still far far far far outpaced by retail disc sales.
I soo AGREE!!!
Word to you motha!
Bring Itagaki back or better yet, somebody please fund Devils Third and make sure it is released. MG Rising in the meanwhile.

"At any rate, I'll pass on Windows 8 for now. I've learned over the years, no good comes of jumping on board new Window's OS's. If they flop, MS pulls the plug quickly and even if they don't, they often end up being pretty damn buggy until at least the first major service packs. Operating systems are an instance where it's never a good idea to be an early adopter."
My experience has been that since Windows XP, ev...
I keep hearing about how bad ME and Bioware has become, yet their game sells the best it has ever been.
Are we in danger of becoming a niche?
@sjaakiejj:
Don't get me wrong, I use Linux every day. It is great for servers and runs rock solid. I use it for my work as my desktop because it is easier for my task dealing with Linux servers.
However, it is not user friendly in any sense of the word. Even if you coat a nice piece of GUI on top of it the ugliness spews out.
Maybe my word use of end-users while referring to what you call the average Joe ticked you off?
I think MS would worry about Macs way before Linux.
Linux is pretty much a joke for end users, and I just don't see consumers caring. It's such a niche market that it is almost impossible to sell a laptop with Linux as the default operating system, let alone targeting an even smaller group of people with gaming.
Well, just enable it for people on Windows 8 and stick to DirectX 11 for the rest. No big deal.
Most likely you can't even tell the difference if they were put side to side.
I would be interested in a tablet that can game. I need a tablet more than gaming, but if it does gaming well to boot, why the heck not?!
What I want (and I haven't looked hard) is an RTS on tablet alas Starcraft 2!!!
Maybe an Xbox branded and gamer targeted tablet could enable developers to put more money into making quality tablet games.
However, I think it is a tough market to enter though.
Lets bring on the Xbox Surf...

"You can sit there and scream retro pride ect all you want, but new generation games should take advantage of more powerful hardware."
There you said it *take advantage of more powerful hardware*. Keyword "take advantage of"! PC has plenty of brute force power, but is rarely taken well advantage of.
It is about easily accessible power that will make an impact.
"Sorry never was interested in t...
@hennessey86:
Actually, more power is not necessary in hardware or more of x, y, and z.
It is often to do with the tools available and the ease of using that "power" or better said, possibilities.
PS3 is an excellent example. It's processing power is almost unmatched, yet poor design caused it to lag behind its direct competitor. Some smart design decisions (instead of bonehead ones) would have made it a screaming monster!
I'm surprised that people still clamor to power, when this entire generation is turned up side down. The most powerful console is last place, and the least powerful console is at the top!
Get it, it ain't the power, but the application of said hardware!!!
It is almost always been about software, and very little hardware.
It is more to do with the uniformity, modern design, availability and ease of use.
On XBL it is extremely easy to send messages, organize a match via party and so on to play a game.
A good scenario is for instance when my friends (as a group) is playing a match, I want to join in, but have to wait for them to finish. Then it is great that I can join in on a party and wait while playing a different game. Then imagine this with many people leaving and joining...
I think the fact that MS has manufacturing problems is telling who will release first. During the design and testing phase, it is common to encounter problems.
If you don't here anything, then they likely haven't gotten very far yet.
You can't design/manufacture chips without problems. That is unheard of!
People hate it, but if you give it a chance it is soo much more convenient.
XBL looked modern for it's time upon release and pretty much through out the years too.
I can't speak for the Wii U shop as I haven't seen it, but the PS Store *was* pretty atrocious looking.
@DigitalRaptor:
I won't bother mud-slinging regarding your fanboy comment, but will point others to your comment history for reference of who the fanboy is.
"Think Gaikai and the next gen PSN."
If Sony can't get their ass in gear with the current PSN and the only real update is a long time coming with the PS Store I have little hope.
Gaikai whom is a competitor to a basically bankrupt company called OnLive....
I'm not sure MS or Nintendo will follow suit. Their business model is to basically give you the razor and sell you the blades. A subscription like PSN Plus, means they will collect negligible amount of money in return for offering games that take away additional potential sale.
On top of that, you are probably limited in what good games you can give. If you give too good games you risk them not buying any other game. Then 3rd parties are screwed, you as a platform is scre...
