This is definitely rendered in real time by the GT5 engine, the technique you are seeing is called ray tracing, it is done in real time at 1080p 60FPS. Ray tracing has little to with "teh texture size" and lots to do with accurate light production, something the SPU's excel at. This is one of the cool things you can do with the Cell Processor in real time.
Lair is glorious (graphically) in certain places, not so much in others. Where as bioshock has consistent good looking graphics. But I see what you are saying though, Lair should have gotten points for graphics just for their first attempt. I mean look at how huge the levels were, and how much was going on on screen.
TEAM ICO has already acknowledge that two new PS3 IP's are in the works. This was brought up a long time ago in an early issue of Famitsu. The only thing newsworthy is the fact (rumor) that this IP(s) will be unveiled at TGS. And no it will not be a sequel to SOTC, maybe a prequel? Please let it be a brand new genre defining, face melting game.
A major crash bug found on the X360 version makes it .5 points worse than the PS3 version. 7>6.5. Oh noezzz. In other news TW07 is exactly the same as TW08 no matter what platform its on. I own 6 PS3 games thus far, 11 blu-ray movies, and 12 PS2 games that still have their wrapper on. My PS3 is definitely the center of my home entertainment system. I can lay down on my big comfy couch and surf the web on my 50" 1080p Samsung DlP, I can stream music/videos/images from my pc 3 rooms away, I can enjoy my entire dvd collection all over again in pristine upscaled quality, I can help cure cancer, I can watch movie trailers in 1080p, check out new game demos, chat with my friend...
you got all of that from a single financial report? I'm amazed. Judging by the way the PS3 is printed next to LA Noire and lack of xbox460 printed next to it...I have come to the conclusion that it will be a timed exclusive, also the second coming of jesus will be on August 24, 2008.

PS3 has an ass load of shooters already, god forbid we don't get another one. Now something from Bioware would be nice.
They have to develop the game for the lowest common denominator..that being the core system with no Hard Drive, and no Memory card. Had there been a hard drive standard with every system...this bit of news would not be news at all.
There are a lot of technical hurdles that must be overcome when using multiple discs on a racing game. This isn't an RPG where a certain point of a game is finished and a new disc can be loaded to start a new portion of the game. Somewhere a long the way temporary data must be stored on the system to be cached. Keep in mind, not all 360's have a standard HDD. This is a daunting task for any developer.
Blu-ray or not, there is no denying that a standard hard drive on every syste...
