Socom still is my favorite shooter ever and there was never a progression system. Just different loadouts based on your character. No reason we can't have more games get rid of the progression system. Personally, I think those systems make it difficult for people that don't play (or pay) as often to compete simply because they're out geared.
They'll understand the nuances when games like Overwatch make money and games like Shadow of war don't. They have researchers for that very thing. So yes, they may not get the distinction now, but they will learn soon enough. Unless games like Shadow of War actually do well, and then..... Just better pick and choose your gaming experiences.
My only tablet is the Switch which would be great for streaming video apps when not able to access a TV. Way better than my phone.
A lot of people have this logic like "Well if you give them an inch then they'll take a foot." while they may sometimes be true, it won't always be true. And if they choose to take that foot, then you can choose to stop supporting them at that time.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if they were price gouging. The prices did seem kind of random. Might have something to do with why they don't exist anymore though.
I know I plan on buying a 2nd switch (for my wife) once they have some color options. Eventually, I will get my son one as well. He's a bit young now at 3, but maybe when he turns 5 or 6.
And the great thing is that you have the option to do that. For me, the Switch does the hybrid thing way better than the PS4 / vita combo. So I will buy most of my multi-platform titles on the Switch. I probably play games 30% docked and 70% undocked. And graphics have never been a big deal to me, so I guess that makes it easier too. And I think Indies make the most sense on the Switch as well especially since in most indie games, there is no difference between the PS4 and the Switch version....
@Mr-Dude, there was an article earlier that stated that only 20% of Nintendo switch owners play with the Switch docked at least 80% of the time. You may not be interested in handheld or tabletop mode now but you may be quickly realize how convenient it is. And if not, well you'll be in the 20%.
I bought superman 64 for $110 back in the day. And a few other n64 games were also being sold for ~$100 dollars from Funcoland.
That said, if games were $100, I'd probably spend less money than I do now. Although even now, I rarely buy $60 games (thanks best buy) so if they were $100, I'd probably be playing a lot more cheaper indie games.
RIP Modern Sonic.
If those games are mid tier, then what do you call high tier?
False. I am a gaming enthusiast, and I can't stand gaming on PCs.
True. All first party games are going to PC but it's possible there could be some 3rd party games that are only on Xbox.
I would just like to add that the number of PC gamers with a PC that matches or beats the PS4 in specs is probably lower than the amount of PS4s.
Ps4 resulted in greater penetration in my home console market. Actually, forget the market and the console.
I can only guess which one will have the longest load times. 😎
I pretty much expected to lose whatever data had to be stored on a controller pak. I did make "backups" (copy data to another controller pak) when possible, but pretty much every controller pak got corrupt eventually. The first party ones were the most reliable but they had such small storage space and a higher price tag than the 3rd party controller paks.
The switch seems to have pretty good motion controls from what I've seen. I'd support a remaster with motion controls on the Switch (but with the option of non motion controls for those who don't want it). Long as it doesn't have that awful stab latency that the Wii version had. I know not everyone had it, but it definitely affected a lot of us, and even after moving into a bigger home, I still had that stab latency though it did improve a bit.
He looks a lot like captain falcon.
@DarkZane
Xbox is never gonna be a big brand? Seems to me that you can ask 5 strangers what an xbox is and at least 3 of them would know. Just because it isn't outselling the playstation doesn't make it a small brand. As long as Xbox is profitable (whatever that means), Xbox is here to stay.
