Yeah except flash memory has come a long ways since then. You can get 64gb USB sticks for 5$ on Newegg so it's safe to say that the manufacturing costs between a blu ray and flash memory aren't that much different. Also saving time/energy from writing discs as opposed to storing on flash memory seems more efficient and cost effective.
Actually I was hoping the new consoles would use flash memory instead of Blu-ray discs. The games have to be installed anyways to play from discs nowadays. At least carts and other forms of flash memory have fast enough transfer speeds to save hard drive space.
Would also be nice if they could shrink the size of of game cases. If games were on 64gb memory sticks the packaging could be far smaller.

Best part about the season pass is it's optional and doesn't seem like it will add much to my experience. I can get the base game and enjoy everything.
In my opinion the worst season passes are the ones that separate the player base. So in my opinion this is fine as I feel most players will skip this pass and not miss out on much.
It's target consumer is competitive multiplayer gamers. If that isn't you then that's fine. I for one think it has plenty of benefits and love my elite. I also owned a scuf prior to the elite, and a Razer sabertooth during the previous console generation. Obviously people will differ on the perceived value of this controller but that's how hobbies and disposable income work.

I loved my time with Destiny, but in my opinion the game got worse for me with their DLC plans and microtransactions. Probably won't ever touch another game in the series unless things change.
