The decision was made by 505 games not Remedy.
Simple answer is they aren't owned by Microsoft and they made this statement.
"The Medium will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows Store and Steam. There are no plans for the game to launch on Xbox One due to the power requirements needed to render both worlds side by side."

I'm still going with Knights of the Old Republic. Jedi Knight 2, Pandemic's Battlefront 2 (the irony), and Jedi Fallen Order are all good enough I can't decide a runner up.
Out of those games I'll only play Horizon. For Xbox I'm only interested in Halo.

Yeah I was never going to buy this game until Next gen upgrade and 10$ black friday sale.
Same as I did for The Witcher 3. Didn't miss out anything other than I got to play a more stable version with tons of extra features/content and bug fixes at a lower price.
Yeah they were really killing it back then with their cpu business hitting less than 10% market share.
The profit margins were low from the failed bulldozer architecture but you wouldn't be able to figure that out.
