I agree, I would say with the amount of things that they are trying to put in one screen, it would be very hard to make them run at all in last gen consoles. I wouldn't say it is not optimized, it is just a bit much for 8 years old hardware.
While not running that well is within my expectation, the amount of bugs is not. But it is a developer that I love, I would give them the benefits of the doubt, trusting that they will fix them asap, instead of shredding them in pie...
It might be buggy and performing poorly, but me personally is having a great time in Night City... it gives me a feeling that I am actually exploring an actual place, not a lot of games gave me that feeling before.
I am playing on a PS5 though, can totally understand the frustration on last gen machines.
@Sayai Jin
If the Initiative chose to do Perfect Dark, then I wish them well. Hopefully they are not being forced to work on old IPs.
Either, in my opinion, two things can happen.
1. They follow closely to the original, limiting their creativity.
2. They don't follow closely to the original, then might as well call it something else.
The point is, it is very hard to meet fans' expectation, it can make reviewers...
@343_Guilty_Spark
To be fair, each of those studio are creating a game that they started... Spiderman-Man doesn't count as it is not a video game license.
For Bluepoint, I might be the minority, because as good of a job as they did with Demon's Souls, I actually prefer them to start creating new IP with what they have learned.
Imagine the 3 studios that are doing CoD in Activition, they are probably drained by doing CoD year aft...
I loved perfect dark on N64. But I would much rather they try something new to be honest, I always feel like it would limit a studio's potential and creativity. Such as 343 to work on Halo, or playground to work on Fable, Activition on Crash, a new studio for MGS or Silent Hill ...etc are just not the same... just create a spiritual successor so the game doesn't get destroy by through the roof hype, and at the same time it give the studio so much more freedom to go crazy!!
That's why I disagree with people saying resolution doesn't matter.
I would much rather playing a game that is 30 fps but looks next-gen.
Then a blurry or PS4 looking game at 60fps.
Fidelity mode > performance mode for ME PERSONALLY. Just have to say personally before I get killed by the 60fps crowd.
I want driveclub 2 😭
@OptimusDK
And gamers will be there when it ACTUALLY happens, I don't see a reason to buy a hope few years before any of these imaginary games exist.
And I will be one of the Sony fanboys who buy Xbox when I see the content, I bought Xbox 360, skipped Xbox one. As of right now, I have zero incentive to get one.
Genuine question since I have never played Crysis before.
Does it really looks that good that it makes all graphic cards struggle? Or it is just not optimized at all?
I like both SP and MP games, but every now and then, I just need to put on my headphone and play some solid single player games, it let me detach from this way too connected world, give me a moment of peace, a moment to just focus on myself and relax.
fixed... "never buy Persona game and there won't be a second release"
@PhantomX02
Glad most gamers think differently than you then, hate hate hate hate hate... so tiring...
Yay, let's do what human do best, judge and hate before you even know what is going on. That's what started all the wars, racism and discrimination, it is in our nature, let's don't let it stop. 2020 isn't bad enough, let's hate every single thing. /S
ya, keep convincing people to not buy at launch and all games price will keep on increasing to compensate that.
I did full physical for PS4... my launch games arrived 3 days late for my PS5, instead of waiting, I bought spiderman and DS digitally, now I am full digital...
I know I will lose access to it if one day the server goes down completely, but I will probably be playing PS7 by that time.
The biggest benefits so far for me is... switch games quicker and even more quiet because the disc spin is relatively loud to the now super quiet PS5.
That's the new standard from XBox fans, new consoles don't have to have new games, just need to run old stuff well, because Phil told them to wait, so they have to wait.
Yes, I totally agree with you, very sad, but luckily I bought a PS5 for PS5 games, if I bought a PS5 for PS2 games, I would be so pissed as well.
I have too many things to play on my PS5 that I forgot to check if it runs games that I was excited to play 2 decades ago, thanks for reminding me that they don't work, I will cry in the corner when I ran out of new games to play.
@rlow1
Yes, so awesome, good for XBox, I was very excited to play PS2 games 2 decades ago as well. Poor Sony fanboys only have actually next gen games to play, suck to be them.
I bought NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U... and Switch is the first Nintendo console that I skipped... and so far I have zero regrets.
3 and a half years since the Switch launched... we get Zelda port, Mario Kart port, Pikmin 3 port, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze port (sorry, the AR one has a unique concept but who can reserve that much space in their house to play regularly)... the one single new game that I wanted to play so far is Super Mario Odyssey. Very li...
People simply refuse to let go of their HATE and see it for what potential this game has.
This is a complex game, it is a miracle that it runs on 8 years old hardware at all.
