I think they did , there is no way they would reveal FF VII remake so early if they didn't trust 100% FF XV .
Most of it sold back then , it was something huge .
You don't need to hope anything , leakers confirmed it was an ARPG a day ago .

Sony doesn't own FF VII , but Luminous Engine devs (Square Enix, FF XV , FF Agni ) said they could already make a game looking way better than FF VII Advent Children in real time , don't worry about it they are talented enough .
Well said SE has always been moving toward a FF VII AC gameplay Luminous Engine may give them a hand .
Why those down votes ? Didn't anyone try them ? You can do something like 10-15 new combos with the same amount of weapon as before .
The best thing about this update is the new combo system , makes me want to try more weapons and more slots .
Giant monsters fights aren't cool at all atm , let's see how they are going to improve them .
You will have a freed day 1 DLC for the blod and gore stuffs and you can customise your party IA (and even the teampay ) in the final game , you can even give them orders i think .
They can't even if they wanted to too , FF XV demo is a marketing deal in short , you can get it only with FF Type 0 HD and SE can't do anything about it since they promised and promoted the demo like that .
There is a free and public demo comming later , with magic and everything , it should be enough to try things out .
Relaunch your PS4/X1 , it may work .

It is not the case since a long time , Tabata said you need to "do some research" if you want to find things related to FNC in FF XV and he other stuff like that in at least 2 ATRs/interview .
I'll try to find some link and sources for the next time this conversation is brought up .
In short FF XV is linked to FNC only if you know the FNC really well .
Surly because you don't know what kind of demo it is (an Alpha/early acess ) .
Even the 2.0 update doesn't look like the 1.0 version at all , unless you don't like the characters i don't see how you could link the demo to the final game .

FF XV E3 trailler is the game we are going to get (it was the prototype , we will get the same gameplay with additional stuffs like magic and weather system ) and it didn't have any KH like gameplay .
The game will probably be bigger than TW3 according to the map size hestimations we have heard ...
It means the next FF/Luminous Engine game in 5 years will look like the tech demo .
The promotion didn't even start , you will know when they start talking too much about it ( spoillers etc .. ) .
The game will release before a year from now , they start full promotion at Gamescome , they don't have time to make a good E3 trailler they said .
The game is 100% sure to be out before 2016 gamescome i think .
