Is there any positive Nintendo news?
If there is I'd sincerely like to see some.
@Stroke666 "nintendo is inerested in the core market"
No they aren't. What gives you the impression that they are? I've seen nothing from Nintendo that they show any interest.
They've brought out another "slightly more powerful than the last gen machine" with a gimmick that they're hoping to sell to the uninformed that don't understand specs. Like last gen. Their online is rubbish. And they have no core games. Except ZombiU and ...
"This time, he's created a Frankenstein's Monster out of the parts of all three current-generation video game consoles."
Ouch. Wii U fans aren't going to be happy with that statement.
@DragonKnight
Canadish?
Thanks Sam

Shame on the author of this opinion piece for trying to fool us with a cheap pun.
DragonKnight - "English wasn't invented by "the English" yet they love to state they speak the "proper version" of it."
Surely if "the English" change their own language then that is their perogative. Seeing as it is "English" and they have branded their name on it.
French, Spanish, Portuguese have evolved over the years, so why not our language.
Maybe it would be easier if you branch off your &quo...
Still got Space Crusade board game boxed with all it's pieces at home. Awesome game.
I see Microsoft getting the most sales if they can capitalise on Kinect 2.0 and hover up all the casuals that have fled the dying corpse of the Wii.
I see PS4 being the best hardware and most powerful. But most powerful don't normally "win" the gen (popularity wise).
See
N64 lost to PS1
Gamecube and XBox lost to PS2
PS3 and 360 lost to Wii.
I think the only gen where the most powerful console won was the SNES.
I don't care who "wins" teh salez.
...but I care about sales in as much as I want the console manufacturers to get decent enough sales that they all stay in business and continue to compete with each other and provide gamers with great game experiences.
Do you remember at the beginning of last gen how we had those users that kept posting about how no one had tapped the power of the Wii and to give it time because it was possible to make games that looked like 360 games.
It was that game the Conduit. That was Nintendo's great white hope. And it was hyped massively.
...then it came out and looked like dog sh1t.
It took at least 2 1/2 years after the Wii released for even the most blinkered Nintendo fans to realise t...
I thought it was rubbish.
Don't think you'll catch me out by making me look like a Sony Fanboi.
If something is poor I'll say so. I don't have allegiance to a console manufacturer.
I don't care what comsole a game comes on. Smash Brothers Melee was better. Brawl is just more of the same but with a broken online.
And before this gen I was always Nintendo. NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube. It's only the last two gens whe...
Terrari is fantastic!!
Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Sonic Chronicles are utter utter horse sh1t.
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but ... no, nintendoland you're wrong.
Nintendo need this gen's equivalent of Wii Sports and Wii Fit to capture those casuals again.
So far they've got nothing. And they need to be quick before Kinect 2.0 releases.
So does this mean I need to upgrade my HDMI 1.4a Home Cinema Amp to an HDMI 2.0 pass-through to be able to handle 4K resolutions?
EDIT: gonna be an expensive few years!
@JBSleek
TV Broadcasts are always behind. Most services still haven't adopted Full HD and broadcasts are normally in either 720p or 1080i and at barely above DVD bitrates.
Bluray is way ahead in color, resolution. Why wouldn't it be the same for 4K?
4K discs, but TV moving up to 1080p or maybe 4K but at a lower and more compressed bitrate.
I think you're a little misguided in your frustrations.
I don't see anything wrong with kinect, light bars, new consoles, tablets etc. The games companies are trying to provide new ways of playing for game developers. Sometimes they come up with a great idea sometimes they don't. And tech has to move forward. Otherwise we'd be stuck with 2d sprites.
Take Shadow of the Colossus for example. That wouldn't be possible on the Sega Megadrive. I...
"Time and girls are limiting factors as well of course..."
Same for me bud. Except I look at it a different way.
I don't have time to play loads of last gen games (which the PS3 will be come this holiday season)
As long as the PS4 has 1 or 2 decent games at launch I'll be happy enough with those. Time and life is short.
Do you want to be spending the short amount of free time you have playing last gen games?
...
If the new console launches with plenty of games I'd say yes. If not, no.
I've been dying for the next gen for the last 2 years. It can't come soon enough for me.
I want shiny new tech.
I think they should make GT6 PS4 only. GT is a system seller. Customers are going to stick with the PS3 if Sony don't give them a few serious reasons to upgrade.
I'm a FPS guy and love Killzone. I'll be jumping right on the PS4 for launc...
@kratos17
Are you quite new to gaming? Nintendo doesn't always release a budget console. It's only done it the last two gens with the Wii and Wii U.
The SNES and N64 were the most powerful of their generation. The Gamecube out performed the PS2 with better graphics. Only when the XBox came late to the party did the cube get out performed.
I agree
