I tried making it challenging by not fighting a single wild Pokemon and I was still able to get halfway through the game without using a single potion with trainer xp alone. And something like Nuzlocke is just no fun to me because I want to assemble a team that I want. Not a random group. I remember having to grind for a gym in gen 1/2/3 and even then I barely made it through. That was the pokemon I remembered when I bought Shield. It was not what I got :(
Have any of CPR's games performed well on consoles when they were released? I remember all of them being tough on PCs on release and improving on both as patches were released. I play on PC with a RTX 2060 on High with DLSS and get 60+ fps which is better than I had expected.
After 2 days of playing, I could boil it down to this: they have taking everything from the greats of the past 2 generations, taken all best bits and improved on them, all combined into one game. The problem is that it lacks polish in a lot of aspects with a few noticeable exceptions: story, acting, immersion, visuals and fun gameplay. And it's the presence of these that make me happy to continue playing it (on PC).
20 hours is actually fine because you'll want to replay a few times to experience all the variations (that's the impression I get) and then a shorter main story is fine. One one of the playthroughs you can then do all the side quests.
I'm torn on this. Basically, the review is saying: insanely amazing game, slightly boring overworld, bugs. Ignoring the bugs, it's can't be a 10 with the overworld not doing much but whether or not bugs that will be fixed down the line (as they were with Witcher3) should affect the score. After all, these scores are almost never updated.
The review mentions the 50GB patch and that it made little difference to the bugs.
@instantstupor, I did read the whole review, yes. You're the one assuming all sorts of things about me. But this SJW crap has to stop. This is a Polish company and unlike America, the rest of the world doesn't have a problem with "cultural appropriation" because highlighting and even stereotyping of other cultures is what makes people interested in it.
If she feels a need to point out that the "incorporation of cultures is downright offensive", then she is...
Dammit, and here I though the score was lower because it was not being looked at through the overhype lens. Guess I'll have to find my down to earth reviews elsewhere.
Then let's hope they don't put a store in Alaska so that I as a European can continue to get more decent prices at $60 XD
(70 - 80 euros in Europe is insane)
Is it a mixer? At least then they can call it a mix-up :P
Yeah, me too. The first trailer had me hyped but the gameplay trailers since left me cold because "mindless shooter" was exactly what I thought too. I wanted a living futuristic world to lose myself in.
I've played games with forced inverted camera (eg Final Fantasy XII on PS2) so I know the pain of having to constantly do the opposite of what feels natural. But yeah, nothing of interest for me here.
I would say that Master Chief is definitely Xbox's mascot. Not to the same degree as Mario is for Nintendo but much more than Crash, etc. have been for Playstation.
Also, Playstation did have a mascot. His name was Kevin Butler :D
Who says we are WILLING to pay those prices? Sony and Microsoft have a monopoly on the console market (Nintendo is even worse when it comes to pricing) so we don't have a choice.
And sure, the typical response is "then don't play games" but that's a crappy argument. Imagine if there were only two car companies that set the prices. Would you say "then don't buy a car"? And to make the analogy complete, there are no bicycles, motorbike, etc. and you ...
Did you even read the article?
This price hike was already done in Europe with the PS4 generation and it never went down for digital prices or physical in normal shops. Only amazon would sell it slightly cheaper. So then you have to wait for a sale. Oh and by the way: the prices may rise from $60 to $70 in the US but in Europe they are raising them again from €70 to €80
Imagine typing that query by accident =D
But that still doesn't make sense because halfway through it starts with Batman again....
Don't forget that you sit much closer to a monitor. A 1440p monitor from 50cm away looks nicer than a 4k TV from 3m away, resolution-wise.
FYI, I have a 110" projection screen that I sit 3m away from and a 1440p monitor that I can swivel out of the way. Your move ;-)
I play at 1440p. Should have mentioned that. But the RTX part is really badly optimised, yes.
