The gameplay style has been done before sure, but the story, the characters, the atmosphere (dat nostalgia). Just finished the demo, finding my card now to pay for the season pass.
I like it; it's a nice break from the heavy action titles that are so popular these days.
Hopefully they can implement 3D audio (Binaural style) for the Morpheus. A simple audio delay between each ear can truly transform an audio experience, allowing for stereo directional audio. Would really help to immerse the player in VR.
Never heard of Apotheon before, but just checked the trailer and it looks pretty good. Wish Thief was PS4 this month though.
How much of this pre-baked lighting though? Many engines today could look like that if all the lighting and reflections are baked. Given that there wasn't a single moving object I'm guessing it was quite a bit for this demo.
Pretty much every game does this. The only reason it looks so weird in that instance is because the person in the video is using the free camera and viewing them from a different angle than normally intended.
Really grasping at straws here.
Did you have the initially released PS+ version? If so that may be why it appears free for you, as the game is cross-buy across all three systems.
Same, I wanted to upgrade from long ago, but all subsequent X60 cards were too long for my case.
Seeing as no one has answered your question yet, I will respond.
If the game is not 1080P/60, it will still stream.
In fact, pretty much all content displayed on the machine would be recognized as 1080P/60 even if the frame rate was 30. If the native res of the game was lower than 1080, the machine or game engine would already stretch it to fill the 1080P output image. If the frame rate was 30, the stream will display each frame twice much like your TV alread...
It's better yes, but it's not as big a difference as some people are making it out to be.
Renderedered?
OT: The game looks pretty amazing. Would be cool to see a localised version.
It's about 1TF of power for this particular SoC.

Thank you for this. Now excuse me as I dry this puddle of tears.
During the artist panels from ND at PSX, they mentioned that those are actual shots of the in-game model, but you may never see it with that quality during gameplay because the camera is always so far away. Really impressive work they've done.
Yeah they have more tracks rolling out later. Here's the (heh) roadmap.

To be fair, Corrinne Yu said that it was real-time.

If you take away the volumetric light beams it looks more or less like the gameplay demo.
That looks like an enemy. IIRC they have improved the grappling hook to allow you to hook multiple separate objects now.
You could already ride the tanks in JC2. The only difference is here you can apparently leave some slack on the line so it doesn't fling you off when it starts doing horizontal corkscrews.
That's crazy impressive! I love the look of their water shader, looks even better than the last game.
The Crew, AKA Midnight Club: The Musical, on Ice.
Yeah, for the PS4 it arrived just today. Quite short, but leaves a good impression imo.
