I can't explain how it works but from what I understand it could be the same type of anti aliasing as featured in infamous second son (txaa variant). If true, the only downside is that there will be minor artifacts on small moving objects (vertical banding).
Pretty cool, but it doesn't look like it's done much to improve the macro details for this game. I have seen some demonstrations with Dark Souls 2 though, and that was stunning.
I don't think the console version has a miner, so for them, no they don't get what they deserve.
It's only one 1080P screen, divided into 8. Still pretty crazy though.
Seems they turned off the AO on the XB1. Other than that it looks very similar.
I think one of the things they should do to improve the quality is apply local cube map reflections to the eyes of characters. I was working on some models in Blender trying to make more realistic eyes, and found that simple addition worked wonderfully. It's a small detail but I rarely see it used in games today.
Not really. Consoles can do it right now. But you would use most of the GPU power to do it. Even on PC you still need to sacrifice quite a bit of GPU power to do this.
There have been a few RPG-like DBZ games back in the PS2 gen. Not sure if you would count Sagas (PS2), but I remember having a couple for GBA that were quite nice.
I love this game. Would love them to make a F2P version of the game to boost the daily player count. Matches getting a little to personal seeing some of the same people every other day :D
I thought the 'last' level was pretty cool. Overall, the single player was just fine. The multiplayer is what keeps me coming back though.
Will be interesting to see how the sales figures change given it's not cheaper but the same price. After the changes to Live it looks like the major differences will now be the games. In that department Sony still has better first party and third party games are better on their machine. There's still no real advantage to picking up the XB1 over the PS4.
I've been seeing that bug pretty much every time I play Killzone but never when I play any other game. My theory is that the game(s) is the cause of this problem and not the OS. Maybe some games cut the recording feature and never run the call to resume it. I say this because I noticed Killzone pauses recording at the end of online matches during the taunt screen.
It's not quite as simple as you seem to think. How would Sony build a machine that could run everything at 1080P/60 without knowing the kind of requirements each game would demand? How would they set the baseline for the hardware specs?
Let's say they included a GTX 680. Don't you think some developers would use that power for even more effects rather than frame rate and resolution?
It's ALWAYS up to the developers on what frame rate/resolution they wa...
Doubt it. Most of these just seem like quick 'n cheap ports of the PS3 games. In this case it's likely a port of a port that they just didn't bother to optimize.
That, "next-gen respawning", looks so cool. They weren't kidding when they said stylized either. This game is OOZING style.
We'll probably find out at E3, given last time they only gave us a small teaser. Hopefully it's still alive.
From what I remember seeing on their update schedule, it's coming after this DLC pack. So by E3 maybe.
Should have included Trip from Enslaved. :)
Those metal gear videos were great. Hope they add more effects and editing options soon. Would love to be able to fade things in and out (stickers/songs). Sound effects would also be great.
Those graphics are fantastic, but the animations are way too stiff. Like looking at Rock Em Sock Em fighters.
