Good to see the DS still has some life in it. Would love to try the latest edition out. Truth be told, I still have a soft spot for this series.
I think it should try coming into existence first.
No. No, he doesn't.
On another note: Apparently there are male play dates as well. :|
The actual quote:
"We have no release date information to update. Unfortunately we can't say anything about that. We can't commit ourselves to 2011 either."
So they didn't say it's not coming at all. Just that it's a toss-up for now. Though yeah, I'm sure it'll skip next year, given that the localization eats up a large chunk of the post-development time.
Remember when three masters of their craft got together for a game, a new IP?
Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy) + Akira Toriyama (Dragonball manga creator) + Nobuo Uematsu (FF Composer) = Chrono Trigger. The list is a little bit more extensive, but these three...damn, reading it back then (even now) would make any RPG fan smile.
And it may be a stretch but if these guys can pull it off (and all evidence towards their track records says they can), I think the...
I like how this site thinks it's such a big deal that it needs to defend itself. Hell, Kotaku is much bigger than this. Did they write an apology/clarification/gloat for posting the infamous doctored GT5 loading times video? Nope.
Fact of the matter is: None of us care anymore.
Apparently (in it's current stage - I don't know how much tweaking they can do since it's only 3 months from release), it only takes one person. Read the description again:
"What happens when you're trying to control the Xbox 360 with gestures and someONE walks in front of you or behind you? Right now? Things go haywire..."
Now THAT's a remake. :D
If they're marketing the device at families, then I think you will.
"It's almost like living in the Twilight Zone when the developer behind the biggest titles in Microsoft's gaming history is no longer an exclusive developer."
Unless you're a stupid fanboy who didn't know they've been separated from MS for quite a while now and have simply stayed with them for working on Reach (since they began work after Halo 3 was released, which was around the same time they separated from MS). Why else are they keeping only a...
This is mere poppycock, my good sir. Joystiq linked to one of his stories a while back, but hardly any major site does so. Even the site that picked up the story - Made2Game - is a small fry.
Though yeah, I am surprised it hit Google. >.>
Wouldn't mind playing it. The first was an awesome, addictive DotA style game. Would love some new maps and gameplay types this time around. Maybe a sort of overworld story map with side-quests and missions for a campaign mode too...
Oh my god, yes! O_O
Sigh, it's the Modern Warfare 2 No Russian fever all over again for the gaming media. '_'
While possible that some companies could sue others for using characters that *kinda* look like their own, those proceedings drag on due to the subtle differences and justifications, etc. That's why Quan Chi and Norton from American X may *remind* you of Kratos, Natsu or Master Chief may *remind* others like Ghost of Sparta of Power Rangers. But they're not the same. By a mile.
Now, if the character is a straight copy like the "Chief" seen in this commercial...
I have to skip breakfast today. Looks like I won't be missing it. D:
As far as being successful, both critically and commercially, I'd say yes. Didn't know this was still a question.
A Chrono Trigger MMO. Or a Skies of Arcadia MMO.
Either of these in my lifetime and I shall die a happy man. :)
Though I concur - it's high time we had a Pokemon MMO already. I haven't touched a Pokemon game since Gold/Silver for the Game Boy Colour but I'd gladly play an MMO for the opportunity to challenge, train and go on adventures with other trainers.
It's funny we talk about the Call of Duty "name". Infinity Ward was pretty much famous for being the brains behind Medal of Honour when they were at EA. Call of Duty 1 and 2 were considered their masterpieces (at the time). But with Treyarch's PS2 port of CoD2 featuring dated graphics and CoD3 not really featuring anything new in it's WWII campaign...well, along with most WWII themed games in general, people started to feel a little "tired" of CoD. Till Infinit...
Because the title wasn't in the form of a question; more in the form of a statement. Seriously, if you don't feel like reading the article, why just comment randomly?
