This is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Wow another comparison article... IF you really are that hardcore about the quality of your graphics, that minor differences in textures and lighting are a concern, then I am sure you would want the PC version. Otherwise, the console variants lack enough of a difference to even warrant this type of argument.

I do not see your reasoning to blame Dice for this? Although DX11 is resource hungry and would not perform adequately on XP, remember the game will still be DX10 compatible; that's a given. The only reason DX10 is not available for XP is because Microsoft decided to cease support for XP.

If a small group can get DX10 running on XP, there is no reason that Microsoft cannot.

If anyone is to blame for this decision, it should be Microsoft. Obviously Dice are going to use the newer shaders etc. from DirectX 10-11 which is not supported in Windows XP (DirectX 9).

If Microsoft allowed you to upgrade DirectX on Windows XP then we wouldn't have this issue, but then from Microsofts point of view there wouldn't be much reason for gamers (probably only a small percentage of the market) to upgrade their OS.

I think the writer of this article has completely misunderstood the use of the song.

Yes - as you have so wisely pointed out, it's an anti-war song. Many people and soldiers were anti-war and it was an absolute political mess to send people to fight in this war. EA/Dice are not going to play a side, they are going to portray what the Vietnam War was as accurately as possible; a brutal horrific and hopeless war with two sides; the soldiers and the politics behind the war. ...

Games are just like any other form of media, we all have different tastes. Comparing it to movies for example, some days I like to take my brain on vacation and watch an action movie with little to no real story, and other days I will want an in-depth plot.

The difference though with games is the fact they are the most interactive form of media, and this is why it can be used as a tool to tell the greatest stories ever. I believe games like Mass Effect are on the right track,...

Avatar was the most pirated movie and yet grossed the highest amount of money, and now this. I'm not endorsing piracy but it does make you wonder.

I agree that it's not right to be treated as a potential criminal when you have legitimately purchased the game (hats off to CD Projekt Red for taking the zero DRM approach), but there have been far worse implementations of copyright protection. Online verification is probably one of the least invasive forms and I wouldn't attribute it to a major reason that PC gaming is on the decline; on the contrary I believe PC gaming is doing quite well, almost on par with consoles. Downloadable ...

Your first mistake was giving your wife the credit card, but all jokes aside. Piracy is prevalent on all gaming platforms; I don't agree with some of the methods used to prevent piracy (DRM), but keeping your PC on an internet connection today is the norm I would think? And remember, It won't be long till consoles travel the same path as PC's and require a constant internet connection. I mean, who would of thought games on a console would require patches/updates -- this used to be...

It was actually quite recent; ended in 1975.

There are plenty of movies made that are based on the Vietnam war, why should it be any different for games? The game places you on both sides of the war and is not distasteful in any way. Dice have attempted to keep it as accurate as they can, and if anything it shows the younger generation (whom are unaware of the atrocities of this war) how horrific it was. It can be used as valuable lesson in history and perhaps spark an intere...

True - The engine is built to be the same on both PS3 and Xbox360, there will be no porting for one console or the other.

So many comments on this screenshot not looking as good as expected. I don't understand, what did you expect? Consoles are limited to the hardware they posses, you can only go so far and this is why I also own a gaming PC. Crysis 2 for me will definitely be a game I will be playing on the PC.

Disagree with "most of the others are just redone/renamed with same sound effects and reload animations". There are a ton of new weapons, but the way this has been written sounds like the reviewer has put any weapon using bullets as the same... Also, all sound effects have been captured from the real weapons on a firing range -- completely new sounds.

Yah, sequel to Mafia II, but both Mafia II and III are unrelated to Mafia I. They should have probably changed the naming schema for these titles.

I do feel bad for those who did purchase this game, a patch that doesn't fix the main issues... that's terrible. Back to Bad Company 2 for me.

Geoff definitely was quite the arrogant person throughout. With the position Geoff is in, he should be trying to sell the show by respecting all interviewers, and that includes the consumers represented by 'Angry Joe'. Outside of that professional environment he can be a douche as much as he likes.
