I think most people have missed the bigger picture here. It's not about games always having been hacked; these hacks allow one to shutdown your console. The console itself has been completely compromised and the reason we are seeing hacks for mainly Modern Warfare and soon Black Ops, is because these are the more popular games. It will not be long till other games get hacked, and it is already spreading to other games as the article has stated (Demon's Soul).

LoL this is exactly what my room mate does. Follows the hype machine and considers themselves a hardcore pro gamer. It's these type of people that call you a noob when you leave a game of Call of Duty to play Super Meat Boy.

Kind of hard to start any other way with large detailed games such as this. It allows new players and veterans to familiarize themselves with the new game by teaching them the basics, and this is incorporated into the story by having you start out from nothing -- such as a prisoner coming out of jail after a long time and learning how the new world works.
I agree the idea is mundane because it is used over excessive; like the 'lost all your memory' style beginning.
If I am understanding this correctly; the full line-up listed is all that is being released in February? I was hoping for Daytona, Shenmue, Marvel vs Capcom, etc =(

I've heard this one before with other MMO's.

Sounds like they are just implementing aspects that HoN already has. The only point of interest in this preview was the use of the Source engine, but no further details are mentioned :(
I am not to sure if this game was a smart choice for Valve to pick up, but only time will tell.
BioWare are extremely busy with all their other IP's and also the Star Wars MMO. On top of that you can probably expect further expansions to be released to these titles afterwards, so this doesn't leave much room for the Jade Empire title unfortunately :(
