Games will flop, 3rd party, 1st party, whatever. As long as games are being made, they will still flop. MS aren't immune to flops either. Socom, yes it flopped, but Too Human? 10 year development, tone of hype, and it flopped even worse than SOCOM.
And the PS3 version of Bioshock actually has more exclusive content than the 360 version.

Blu-ray has nothing to do with any financial problems Sony is in right now. Blu ray has opened up countless possibilities for the PS3, including things that the Xbox cannot do with it's limited, and soon to be old, DVD technology. A bit like VHS.

Luckily for Sony, this poses little of a problem as most of the exclusives are 1st party. But for Microsoft it is. No developer will bother making 3rd party exclusives any more, all thanks to them.
