This is just a tech demo, having nothing whatsoever to do with Gears 3, which hasn't even been formally announced. Kotaku are just suggesting that we could see those kind of graphics in the game.

And yet people still point fingers at the other sides, declaring them worse, when in reality they do exactly the same thing just replacing "Sony" with "Microsoft" or what have you. So immature.
Microsoft were unwilling to gamble with a format that was unproven to be successful, and in all fairness they had every right to be. Sony took a risky business strategy by adopting blu-ray. Hell, if it had bombed it would have had colossal impact on how the PS3 performed sales wise.
You can't really accuse Microsoft of holding back technology. Sony took a gamble with Blu-Ray and it paid off, Blu-ray could have gone lost the format war at great expense to Sony, fortunately it didn't. When Microsoft designed the 360 it was unknown how newer formats would perform, so they played it safe.
PC RPGs please. Like they used to.
@A Cupcake, Bioware are sizing up Old Republic to be a serious competitor for WoW, releasing it on 360/PS3 would be a sure-fire way to guarantee that never happens.

Bioware is my favourite developers of all time, by quite a distance as well. For quite awhile all I used to play were Bioware PC RPGs.
After seeing their recent work in the forms of Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins the company most certainly hasn't lost any quality in their games.

I'm really looking forward to this, hopefully will re spark my interest in Halo, though I am kind of disappointed, as the graphics in the trailer looked amazing, and these screenshots don't, but I'm willing to put that down to bad screenshots until Bungie release some.
I usually find OPMs reviews to be fairly accurate to how much I'll enjoy the game, so this has further sparked my interest in the game, but I'll wait for a few more reviews before I make my decision :)
tldr; virtually every game released in 2009 was overrated.
Just because a game's good doesn't mean it's overrated. We might as well call every single decent game out there overrated and only play crappy ones.

I actually don't think I could be less excited for Natal or the PS3 wand. Usually I can see why others are excited over something, but this time I really can't. Natal especially looks cool, but fun? No. Not sure about you guys, but I don't particularly want to stand around in my living room waving my arms about like a bellend. And the PS3 wand looks just the same as the Wii.

As long as possible I hope. This is the first generation that I've bought all the consoles on the market, and thankfully it's been a long one, so I'll definitely get my moneys worth.
Realistically though, I can see a new Xbox in maybe 2012/2013. PS4 in around 2013/2014 is my guess, but the longer this gen lasts, the happier I'll be.
