My problem with Modern Warfare and Activision is how they try to capture the casual audience of teens. I just dislike the craze that follows this game and how everyone points to sales as an indicator of its quality. Honestly, the MW supporters are sometimes as bad or worse than the extreme haters.

LOL okay,bad comparison, but perhaps the movie industry is a perfect example. Call of duty games sell more because they have turned into the Transformers of the gaming industry. It's basically the cool thing to buy Call of duty now, I know tons of kids who know nothing about gaming, but go buy an xbox and call of duty because that's what is popular, regardless of quality. A lot of middle and high school kids buy Modern Warfare, they love shooters, good thing sales don't indicate quality, otherwise Mcdonalds would be better than a beautiful authentic italian restaurant.
Meh, If I can get new games for half off on Black friday, then wouldn't I be able to get a lower priced RDR?
Very unfortunate that you encountered those technical issues, and I agree about the suppression effect and the lighting. As for me, I like Battlefield 3 but honestly it just hasn't been as fun as I expected. Heck, games like MAG have been more enjoyable, and that says a lot. I guess I'm not use to the openness of BF games. Another thing is that for some reason, almost nobody has a damn mic, sucks.
This isn't a big deal, and as always the xbox fanboys are trying to make it so. Not trying to start anything, just going by what I see so far in these comments.
Also, some of you need to live for something more than just being able to play on three PS3s.

I wonder why people get so anal when it is blatantly obvious that somebody is biased and somebody calls them out. In case you guys need a bit of a recap, the PS3 was practically the media's whipping boy for its first 2-3 years, so assuming that its games get treated harshly is not out of the question. Have a brain people.

This is a headline meant to get reactions, either that or the author is an idiot. As for Live, I've seen it in action and it doesn't overshadow PSN in any way except cross game chat. I enjoy PSN, the fact that it has Home and it is free. Service wise it's pretty much the same, in features Live is slightly better but not like the xbox trolls above would like you to believe.

It sure as hell doesn't deserve GOTY this time. Arkham City and Uncharted 3 are much better candidates. Not to mention Skyrim.

Can't say much since I haven't played Modern Warfare 3, but I plan on renting it soon or buying it used somewhere. As for Battlefield 3, it's a really good game, everything is more realistic in terms of graphics, sound, and movement. The difference is probably arcade shooter vs. realistic tactical shooter, I prefer something in between, and Battlefield 3 is the closest to that so far.
If this sucks, I can only imagine the WW2 shooter that'll come after this, not that it matters since fans gobble it up and ask for nothing.

Team Deathmatch in BF3 is a mess. Enemies will spawn a few feet away from you, and you HAVE to be watching your back every second. K/D ratios suffer heavily, thankfully sometimes I still manage to balance it out but I die so many times due to an unfair spawn advantage by the other team, same goes for the former side. Every other multiplayer mode is golden, but I have to say that the maps are just not my style. Sometimes you have to sneak INTO the action, which is ridiculous.

I held off from buying Skyrim because of this issue, bought Fifa 12 instead and plan on getting Uncharted 3 if they don't fix Skyrim.
