Horizon Forbidden West is out in 3 days for you. Metroid Dread, Deathloop, and Returnal just came out this generation. Forspoken is up and coming. They just dropped Uncharted Lost Legacy on PS5. Tchia is coming this year as well.

Oddworld Abe’s Oddysee and Exoddus on PS1/PC are 10/10 phenomenal. Munch’s Oddysee is a 7, Stranger is a 6, New and Tasty is also a 6, and SoulStorm is sadly a 3. I’m a massive Oddworld fan and I have been incredibly disappointed with the series after the original two titles.

I’d like to see a northern midwestern take on Chicago/Detroit/etc… big snowy city, Great Lakes, bordering Canada, lots to do and poke fun at. Thinking female protagonist voice by Pam Grier in the 70s would be badass.
I do say Vice City on this gen will be sweet but what era will they go?

But also, these games have a story. BOTW, doesn’t. It’s a barren world of physics and a bunch short mini-games/puzzles. It’s basically the equivalent of an iPhone game.
Golf Story is my favorite Switch-exclusive Indie.
I cannot praise EVO The Search for Eden enough. This game deserves a remake as it’s one of the wildest platformer JRPGs ever made. The concept of spending XP on evolving and devolving on the fly to navigate the world was really interesting. Evolution in games is rarely tackled creatively but EVO nailed it.

Taking this opportunity to say Bugsnax is awesome! Proudly platinum’d that and definitely would have paid for it if it wasn’t a PS+ title.
Rumor mill is that the team used All Stars as a test bed game to make a PS5 Twisted Metal in the future. No idea why they made this though. Total miss and it could hurt them in the end. Twisted Metal is really awesome. I honestly hope they take this series the Forza Horizon route. Maybe a big open world like a destroyed city in an apocalyptic setting. Still can have arenas and races, battles etc, but also add RPG elements and quests, challenges etc.
I hope this is camp as all hell.
