Xbox One is a poor mans PS4. MS want Xbox One to achieve 1080p like PS4 but they have to sacrifice performance just to make that possible. There will always be a resolution or performance trade-off with Xbox One this gen when compared to PS4, because Xbox One is just simply a weaker console.
I believe you, but I don't think you went into it unprepared at night in the dark with no lights and high quality headphones like most did when It was first revealed. I didn't know anything about the game before playing(before the hype) and the game increased my heart rate at times.
I would believe Vgchartz is off by a lot considering their denial of Sony's official numbers for PS4 and have PS4 undertracked by a ridiculous amount. Insiderp numbers for PS4 are more accurate. A better guess or estimate than the highly unreliable Vgchartz.
Vgchartz tracks shipped to retailers. At least that's what they said when defending MS over tracked numbers.

Why not a mix of both. If I had to choose one It would definitely be first person though. Just look at the reactions of the playable teaser. A lot of people are saying they'll buy Silent Hills based on what they played in P.T. Also first person is scarier than 360 camera, because you can't preview what's around a corner or behind you. It's more realistic which adds to those "S*** your pants" moments that Kojima is going for. PT wouldn't be half as scary in third...

@ GribbleGrunger, I think you may be overthinking it just a bit. Maybe he is genuinely a fan of the game and doesn't want to ruin his memory of his four hours with the PS3 version. I kind of see where he's coming from. There are games that are so good that I wish I had never played them just to experience them all over again.
