There's less of them because the internet happened, and people realized multiplayer gaming is tons of fun, not because they can't make them.
This is just the natural progression of saturating a market to appeal to all audiences. Everyone gets their singleplayer's/multiplayer 's now.

Are you serious? Uncharted 4's multiplayer was horrible. It played it so safe I could almost swear it was one of the first multiplayer games ever made.
Flat out boring, would fail miserably to compete against even Tribes 1 multiplayer.

No they aren't. People don't stop making good things because two GARBAGE companies try to make all the money and ruin every piece of art they touch.
Single player games will never go away, at least not until AI thinks/acts/feels like real human beings, and we're all in the matrix and the best stories are made on the fly in massive real-life simulated universes.
Outside of a beautifully designed terrain map and musical score it's bug ridden, souless garbage. Boring NPCS, meaningless fetch quests, boring political plot, repetitive looting, insulting puzzles, amazingly stupid AI and way to much random RNG quests that have absolutely no meaning.
It has it's moments. The guilds, Sheogorath and a quest here or there about cannibalism, vampires, ghosts etc. But for the most part it's just... Lacking of life/soul.

You do realize in order to get 1886 to look as good as it did they dropped the resolution to the equivilent of 900p with the black bars, right?
..The pro would be hella lucky to get this game to run at much more than 1080p, maybe some kind of weird custom, "I don't even know how it works on my tv", 1200p.
Not really unless it's on sale for 5 bucks or something, "and even then". Other than graphics it was a horrible game. Less game play in it's 5 hours than cutscenes. Same identical bosses, worst stealth mechanic I've ever seen, the ultimate invisible hallway, no multiplayer, no single player modes... Just a really boring 4 hour movie where all you really do is push forward. And it doesn't even finish it's own story.

BR is the freshest shooter genre mechanic I've seen in years.. Why wouldn't someone want fun in their game?.. Even if it's not for them, it makes other people happy and brings more people in/back to the game.
