3GB for OS isn't really much. On PC, most gamers stick with 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and it's more than enough, even with Windoze and other background processes hoarding up a lot of RAM. Most games don't use more than 2~3 GB. There are some rare ones that do use more than that, but they're few and far between.
Exactly, they aren't illegal at all. E.g., with PCSX2, the PS2 emulator, the emulator comes with everything you need to get it running, except the BIOS, which you need to rip yourself, which means you need to have your own PS2 to legally use the emulator. Same with games, you need to own the original disc and make your own backups to play them legally.
So long as you own the original console (if a BIOS is required) and you rip your own backups of the games, then you'...
>Implying that people didn't pirate the shit out of PSP and 360 games, and still do.
I remember the Ubisoft DRM debacle from back in the day. They actually punished legit buyers with the always-online BS back then. You were literally better off torrenting the game than buying it legit, because you could at least play it without needing to be connected to the internet.
Ubisoft is a joke nowadays, what a shame.
u wot m8?
Yeah, they totally changed it for the better in the end, lol. The designs in the final game were much better.
Right, Mr. CEO, people are only complaining to be hipsters and unique. It's not as if your game was an immensely buggy POS when it launched, and is still suffering from issues or anything...
I dunno why anyone who bought DLC would have more of a right to complain, besides the obvious of them being the ones to give EA even more money.
@ninjagoat
Official mod tools aren't necessarily needed for budding enthusiasts/coders to mod the games, though. There have been many cases where games that didn't have "official" mod support got extensively modded anyway.
As usual, CD Projekt Red are 100% spot-on. There's really no point in talking about things like this when the games are 50 light years away from being released. Usually any of those factors could change at any moment, and then idiots who don't know shit like to go and start spouting conspiracy theories and whatnot (like you see on this site and many others.)
Didn't Volition say SR4 was the last one for a while or something? If this is true though, it's just gonna somehow be even more ridiculous than SR4 was.
Even though I prefer the style of SR2, all of the SR games are best experienced with a co-op buddy, where they shine very brightly. All the games are fun in their own right.
I miss the days of hooking up the multi-tap and crowding around a small-ass 19" TV with my friends and playing the absolute piss out of this game. Who remembers the Battle Mode, lol?
Treyarch is a talented studio. I remember playing the piss out of their Spider-Man games on PS2, specifically "Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man 2", lol.
CoD3 was way better than CoD2, and it's a pity it didn't get released on PC considering they only had less than a year to make the game. WaW was good, Black Ops was good, and BO2 was questionable at best, but still better than both MW3 AND Ghosts.
Treyarch's CoD games blow IW's out of the water (last truly good IW CoD game was CoD4, don't care what anyone says.) Treyarch is also the only dev for CoD who actually puts forth any effort on the PC versions. The IW/Sledgehammer games we've had on PC have been pure trash ever since MW2.
2.75ghz is the max Turbo Core speed. I believe when Turbo Core is engaged, fewer cores are used to balance out power consumption/heat levels. This is geared more towards lowly-threaded and single-threaded tasks which can be completed faster with the higher clockspeed.
Yep. The CPU's in the PS3 and 360 were actually based off the same design, just implemented differently.
PS3's Cell had one main physical core and 8 sub-execution units on the die. For the PS3, one of those eight SPU's were disabled for yields, and one was reserved for the OS, which left six total for games.
360's "Xenon" CPU had three physical cores, each of which could create two threads (SMT, or Simultaneous Multi-Threading), fo...
@Eidolon
It's not a "PC CPU", both of the console APU's are semi-custom designs from AMD. The Jaguar architecture was not designed specifically for PC, even though it's an x86-64 based processor. It was designed to be scalable into many different processors for different form-factors, not necessarily tied to Windows or Linux-based PCs in particular.
Same, green is my favorite color but MS has that >_>.
Saw this the other night, I almost choked laughing.
Ghosts is a shitty FPS, that's all there is to. Terrible campaign with an abysmal story, and the multiplayer is an absolute joke.
Fanboys fail to realize that many game devs are actual gamers themselves, and don't have nonsensical brand loyalty like they do.
Very refreshing to see some honesty like this.
