I think one of the fears from the UC fanbase is that Eurogamer will get the formula changed for future Uncharteds, honestly I hope they don't change a damn thing.

"I think it's one of the only reviews out there that point out a very serious problem in games."
That's why ND didn't set out to make a "game," but an Interactive Cinematic Experience. You find fault with diversity, I don't. This industry is spliting itself to offer something that is more like an experience for some and something that is more "fun" for others, how is that a problem? Hell, if more ...
I will take Scripted events over cut scenes anyday.
I am aware, and i was not encompassing the entirety of UC2, specifically where innovation was shown. I was referring to the chase seen down the alley and the scene at 2:57 Spoilers.

Let's not forget that cutscenes were around to do what actual tech couldn't, and well, actual tech. is getting more and more powerful.
I am pretty sure ND stated that they were out to make an interactive cinematic experience. I just wish this guy had reviewed UC3 based on its merits as opposed to what he wanted it to be.
When games were meant for the pure "fun" sense one received while "playing" it, Eurogamer's review would have been rational. The truth is though, we are over the days where the interactive medium provides a type of stimulus. "Games" stopped being "games" when developers stopped creating products and instead began to craft experiences with true emotion. Games are meant to be played, yes, but Uncharted really isn't a "game." If I want st...
I take it some people haven't experienced UC2 then.
While I do enjoy Half-Life, I would cite that as a bad example. For myself, UC2 has the best response to cut-scenes using the camera angles dynamically. I think they will always be needed for certain genres, not for all though. Also, I would hardly fault HL2 for your lack of maturity ;).
But yes, I do agree that we need better contextual responses.
I can't speak for others, I dislike them because I feel we can tell the story interactively, as opposed to out sourcing things. Not a big fan of QTE either...
I feel about them the same way Spielberg does.
To whomever disagreed, at least tell me why.

The true irony is that we still view something like Uncharted or Heavy Rain as being a "game." As in, this is supposed to be "fun" or a digital toy as opposed to an interactive narrative or social commentary. Please, we are passed the days were the plumber jumping on heads is the standard and norm. A medium is only as deep and sophisticated as people want it to be, and I want something that impacts me as much as the works of Faulkner or the films of Spielberg.

What exactly was their criticism for UC3, again?
I'm sorry, but when the score is 4.9 it is almost as if they were looking for something wrong. A 5 point scale is too low to be pulling this 9.7, 9.9 crap.
Well, thats good to hear.
That'll do Drake, that'll do...
TOR is not KotOR 3, people seem to forget that. KotOR was/is my favorite game of all time. I will keep checking the stars for KotOR 3. Who knows, maybe one day...
The dawn of Interactive Cinematic Entertainment indeed....
Both. We still need to pick up and play something we enjoy, yet at the same time we have gone beyond "fun" for one hell of an experience. There was nothing fun about yelling Jason!" but it was memorable.
