I completely agree with you, getting to experience the console at release and being part of that new beginning is great and there's few feelings that mimic that launch day (or even launch year) experience of opening a brand new console, setting it up and discovering all the new quirky ins and outs of your new console.
But as it stands you guys can go on ahead, I still have things to take care of here first, like a backlog and screwing with the MAME emulator :)
Not really related to the article but is anyone else tired of being called a consumer? Your a person, not company cash cattle. I miss the days when people were considered customers instead of consumers.
I can't wait until a company goes under while still owing content to customers, this is an issue that has yet to be explored and will surely lead to a bunch off pissed of people. Also, how many games are still waiting for season pass content this gen? Makes me wonder how many people are trading in games or systems that still have season pass content coming in exchange for next gen systems, not to mention how next gen upgrading is going to hurt individual sales of the dlc releases.
But Remake did sell pretty well, it was like 1.2 million or so and that's great for a remake. Being GC exclusive did limit the amount of sales remake could make but if that eventuality didn't affect sales expectations then it's Capcoms fault for thinking they could sell multimillion units on one platform with a game everyone had already played. It's like Sqenix with Tomb Raider, sales expectations were just too high for the game to ever succeed.
I personally will be waiting, I would like to see a price drop before I get one but it may come down more to just seeing if these consoles are going to work properly at launch or not. Also there's really not much that's interesting for me at launch for either system that's not available on the current consoles so waiting until there's a bigger library is the way to go for me.
So remember how the PS2 was outselling the PS3 for a good long while after release? If the 360 and PS3 outsell the next gen in the beginning year or two does that mean those companies next gen products are doomed? This sounds like talking sh!t instead of talking sense.

It's wild to me that so many games, especially really good games like the Panzer Dragoon titles, have been relegated to emulation and abandoned by their parent companies. I shudder at the horror that will be the eventual PS3 and Xbox 360 digital store shutdown, how much will be lost to obscurity through services like these or even Steam being shutdown in the future.

Sounds like there's a group of people out there that need to expand their interests. Or Call of Duty is actually some Lovecraft inspired Elder God that pre dates humanity and rules over its slaves with an iron fistful of jaggy tentacles from a nether dimension of pain and corporate marketing tie ins. All of this can be avoided now..... until the next EA money grab.....
This is sad. Next gen excitement has devolved to 'Hey, compare these comparisons between these two often compared consoles.' I know DF just had a huge controversy about their side by side but really people just play the console at home or at a store setup. Relying on any of these sites to tell you what's better or not is just a mistake. Make your own conclusions based on your own experience and just be happy we're getting new consoles.
Did you watch the video you put up for your update? There's no mention of Rev3 not getting a PS4 just him saying that they'll do the reviews if they can get a console, the specific console is never mentioned. If you watch the Battlefield 4 review you'll notice he talks about playing the PS4 version but not being able to give impressions about the Xbone version. You should strive to offer legitimate information if your going to go off on a tirade of entitlement anger.

What your talking about happens all the time, it's called a pre order. You won't test drive a car before its release, you don't get to play with a mobile phone before street launch, and nobody is letting you try out a laptop months it comes out.
I'm angry with reviewers for giving this game such high marks without playing the whole game, this industry is becoming more shady and pathetic with each year. Next gen is going to be a huge mess if devs keep trying to pull this kind of sh!t.
It's already starting. Charging $40 for half of Killer Instinct now and $40 again for the next half is just the beginning for new next gen profit tomfoolery.
