I think VR is where next gen will truly start to do something new, that tech has the ability to do something new with our game world and mechanics if the headsets themselves prove to be of substantial enough quality to allow it. Leaving VR aside I agree with a lot of what your saying, even about Nintendo. So far the only way this green had defined itself so far is with massive hype that turns into being let down because NOTHING matches the PR BS that gets slung around about these games. We...

Yea, people love it but it's not that wholesome kind of love, it's more like that abusive relationship kind of love that results in drug use and domestic disputes closely followed by restraining orders and shattered dreams.

I'm looking forward to seeing what all will be available as well, I'm really excited for the prospect of VR horror games and maybe (hopefully) even some good use of VR in a 2D game. I think your right about Sony showing of the headset and showing of the finished product next year, it'll give them more feedback and enough time to make the final changes.

People lose their jobs all the time, at least these people are trained and the game industry is big enough they could find other jobs. Should the tobacco industry stay the same size so people keep their jobs? Should oil production stay at high levels when alternatives are available so people can keep their jobs? Companies and industries fail, that's supposed to be a huge component of capitalism. Without failure we all eventually lose.

I agree, the course AAA gaming is taking is a mediocre one at best.

Good, from what I've read there are still problems to work out, I was concerned when I read it was complete but now I'm a little more optimistic for the Morpheus future. Sony NEEDS to get this right the first time.

I can't wait until it comes out on Wii U, sells like garbage and UbiSoft blame Nintendo for it.

I don't trust trailers anymore, not footage of games years off, or pretty much anything that isn't gameplay running on the console. This industry is lying itself to mediocrity and I'm not falling for it anymore. Actual gameplay or STFU.

You can already get an amazing port of Deus Ex on the Wii U.

This service is mind numbingly ridiculous as it stands, you would be better off just getting a PS3 and buying the games physically instead of using the convoluted rental system. It's not the answer to backwards compatibility it was supposed to be that's for sure, the pricing makes the physical copies you can get cheaper than the digital rentals, I don't trust a 'buy' it option since having access to bought games relies on the service being available/continuing to exist, it...

"...working with a computer system and a pointing device."
I don't know if the human body could be considered a pointing device, so Kinect is probably safe. Anything that relies on Kinect and some other device linked with it could be a problem though.

"The patents can be described as devices with a camera and a physical motion sensor..."
TV remote don't rely on a camera or physical motion sensors, just IR. Maybe some TV companies have experimented with that but I don't know of any.

Wouldn't this also pertain to the Sony Move?

"The patents can be described as devices with a camera and a physical motion sensor working with a computer system and a pointing device. In this, the patent explains that the pointing device sends commends to the computer system that are input through hand gestures. A motion trajectory of the pointing device is used."

Also that patent seems real vague, I don't think this will survive an appeal. ...

Buy the game? For how long? I've already bought lots of games I already own all over again, and then again, and I'm not doing it anymore. THIS is why Sony and MS have dropped backwards compatibility, so they can just keep charging for the same stuff over and over and over. It's a combination of a money hole and DRM, it benefits them first and us hardly at all.

4262d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I agree with a lot of what your saying, these companies (Many of them, not just Sony) have become more about money grabs while reducing content or ways to make sure you can only play games on their terms and standards. I thought PSNow was going to offer a solution to backwards compatibility put instead it's just going to be an overly expensive rental service offering you last Gens greatest hits at such high prices that it would make more sense to just go buy a copy of the game.

My PC is a POS, its lucky to run indie games and PS2 stuff on an emulator. I'm a console gamer and what this article means is not only are the demos shown at E3 not representative of the console release it also means it's not even an accurate look at what PC will get. Is just lies, pretty pretty lies. Now go troll on someone else.

Digital, the future of screwing people on console release prices. This is sad.

4263d ago 4 agree4 disagreeView comment

So, I'll just assume almost everything shown at E3 outside of Nintendos stuff and a few games on the other consoles was a lie. I'm tired of being lied to. Just show the game how it's going to look on consoles or at least make the game for PC look as good as the bullshot, otherwise STFU.

Some more HD collections/remasters would be nice but for me is all about a new Mother/Earthbound. I know, I always want what I can't have.... Boohoo...

Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes, THIS is what I want. I would even take it a step further and hope for a remaster of the entire series, if that's even possible. Such under appreciated games and great entries in the survival horror genre.
