Turn based Demon's Souls would kill the spirit of the game. It wasn't made for that
I'm sure that Sony will just as they did at the beginning of this gen. Mentioning their take on TV and sports is ironic because they made a similar mistake this time focusing on clouds. Now they don't even want you to worry about upgrading.
They're making quite a few mistakes. Doesn't seem like they ever learn. Now instead of sales they'd rather get mass amounts of subscribers to play games they never own. When they can't then sell those subs for $1. It's like they are trying to devalue gaming or something. The spin for this decision of no exclusives is hilarious at times. Now people would rather a system release with no exclusives. That's the craziest thing. We are living in some strange times
It's definitely a mistake. And for those that think it will help sell more copies of the game I'd say think again. Putting them on GamePass isn't selling copies. A vast majority will most likely just play the game on there and never buy it. So that would be a lost sale. Especially when a sub could be had for just $1.
How would you get the average number of games purchased per year "on average"? You'd take total sales and divide it by consoles out there. Sounds like what I said above. There's no other way to do this. Some people will have 100 games and others may have just 10. There's no way to know that's why it's all an average. Just like attach rate
That's pretty cool. I really don't need any more games! Only one I have out of there is Layers of Fear, which is definitely worth $5

attach rate seems pretty straight forward. Number of games sold divided by number of consoles sold. More than 30% bought a game actually, the numbers added that amount in. So if 30% originally bought one now 60% did. 40-70 and so on. Good numbers either way. Really wouldn't surprise me being around Christmas. Gift cards and all
Tetris has sold more than that. What's your point? Obviously with an extremely popular game selling on more consoles is going to net more sales but your example doesn't really hold up here. Game Pass isn't selling games. So even if 50 million signed up the sale would be zero. Minecraft is one of a kind. Can't exactly compare that to other games out now. Just like how everyone wants to be the next CoD or GTA. It's just not happening

Great things for these games with 9-12 Tflops over what we have now. These PS4 exclusives have been amazing. Diminishing returns but even at 4 or 5X what we have have now is a lot of graphical power. Imagine all that extra power being used on things that have literally not been bothered with. I can see next gen being a very decent upgrade. Like other commented I don't see why people act as if it won't be. Especially with the SSD

230Glops vs 6.2Gflops. That's most likely where it came from. What I'm talking about now is completely different than that. Selling on a lie and constant reassurance articles are not the same as Sony claiming the PS3 being that much more powerful than the PS2.

You don't have to be a shareholder to want a company to do well. I game on the systems so of course I'd want them to do well so the games keep coming. Sony making money for this to continue is a good thing

Remote play is a plus for Sony and consumers. Doesn't mean they're trying to release their games on the Switch.
Another odd fact because last gen it seemed everyone was claiming 360 had a higher attach rate than PS3. Now with GamePass it will be even smaller attach rate come next gen for MS. We can definitely see where the focus is for those 2 companies.

This js interesting because in the slowdown of MS gaming articles people are calling it always happens and contributing it to the next gen approaching. It's nice to see Sony doing well. I hope to see great gaming continue with the PS5
If "all your friends" were playing on other systems why has Sony been outselling them? Every pro player plays on pc or xbox? That's hilarious. What makes someone a "pro"? Games like Gran Turismo are used outside of gaming by actual pros but not Forza? Hmmm.....
PC gaming is nice but consoles aren't going anywhere. People should really stop using the software argument as a positive because in this case it isn't. Do not forget about Game Pass...
