Sony is probably co-producing the movie. There is no way they would give full rights to the movie to Universal when they have a massive movie production company in house. I am sure it's going to be a collaboration between the two companies.
As for the HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, by the time this movie actually hits a media format. One of the two formats is going to win the "format war." And by all means it looks like Blu-Ray is very much kicking the crap out of HD-DVDs rig...
Aren't living in the past, they live in the present.. and presently the Ps2 is still outselling the 360.
I am pretty sure the game is going to be just Killzone rather then Killzone 2 etc.. Gorilla and Sony probably want to re-boot the franchise and use next gen technology to make it better. If they are investing that much money on it, they probably don't want the lingering of the old Killzone around. So, this one might just be the "Killzone" we wanted, but couldn't have because of the hardware limitations.
Don't you think it's better for them to test out the firmware updates rather then just send them out randomly. Resulting in some terrible bricking problems, that have been present with the 360. I am sure any 360 owner who got his 360 bricked due to a firmware update will agree.
@ Hatchetforce
The 360 had the exact same interface as the Ps3 when it first came out. NO background downloads etc.. it developed these things through firmware updates that have been occurring ...
Sorry for the mix up, Oblivion obviously isn't a shooter. It is an Action / RPG, however Dead Rising is an Action / TPS and so is, Saints Row. Dead or Alive is a fighting game, not a shooter.. xD
But it still doesn't change the numbers all that much. Remember, as I had stated GRAW2 and The Darkness are not included on this list. So the numbers won't make a big difference. Since they will relatively stay the same.
Just to make sure.. here are the numbers for...
I hope you didn't buy a Ps3 for the purpose of just updating it's firmware. o.O
People who are buying Madden won't care if it's 30 FPS or 60 FPS. Frankly your eyes will have a VERY HARD TIME, distinguish the difference between the two frame rates. As your eye is perfectly OK seeing in 23.976 FPS. How 1up noticed an "actual" difference boggles my mind.
Unless they saw a "frame drop" on the Ps3 version, they shouldn't have noticed an "over glaring" difference between the two versions. And it seems, they really didn't have any...
If everyone thinks the Earth is flat, then the Earth is flat. This is the same basis you must equate when considering the "meta" scores of the game. So, you can't simply dismiss the article because your "personal" tastes are not met. That also doesn't mean your opinion isn't true either.
Now, that doesn't mean I agree with this article. And frankly 17% and 22% doesn't make a big difference. And what percentage of games are shooters shouldn't create an as...
They have already come very close to the render target. And as shown in that example, they have already achieved the E3 07 target render. Keep in mind, this is only in Alpha stage there are still a lot of cosmetics that need to be put on before it shines.
Have you thought that maybe Killzone wasn't JUST being focused at the "average gamer." And more towards the Halo lover and "hardcore" gamers.
To add on to DJ's post.. I would like to remind everyone that each SPU can run two threads. That means each SPU can process two lines of data at any given time. Just like the 360 can run 2 threads per core, the Ps3 can do the same with the 7 SPUs.
Hope that helps.. xD
Alpha to Beta.. it's development stages.
Awesome idea and great savings for anyone who can qualify.
The games you mentioned are not in house, that doesn't mean Sony doesn't have a lot of first party support. Jack and Dexter / Grand Torismo / Slycoper / God of War / Resistance Fall of Men / Syphon Filter / Killzon / Ratchet and Clank /Crash Bandicot and others..
Heavenly Sword / Little Big Planet and other games are coming out in the future.
We need high resolution pictures, also a lot of those look like concept art.
Yes, it's not really "AO" but there has been a "buzz" around the gaming forums for more adult oriented games. This might not be the pioneer when it comes to being a full fledged Adult Game, heck God of War had two half naked girls going at it. But it might be a step in the right direction.
The point of this article wasn't to poke fun at the 360. But to point out the plain fact that the retailers should be smarter. They know of the faulty nature of the console. They shouldn't keep it in a enclosed box like that. Fact is no console should be left in a box like that, anything would over heat if it can't get proper ventilation.
Especially the 360 since it has been getting a lot of bad press lately, because of it's faulty nature. So, having a console die in the s...
Only 53% of people who buy a DS know it has dual screen. I mean, how the hell does roughly 1:2 people know the system has two screens? Are they blind? These surveys are NOT a good indication of anything.. let alone human intelligence.
I agree, the games that are currently available for Christmas 07 are "hardcore" games. Halo won't appeal to casual gamers, neither well Bioshock or Mass Effect. They needed a game like Banjo and Kazooi, a platformer to entice an younger audience to the system. And GTA4 would have been THE game that would attract casual gamers to the system, unfortunately that has been delayed..
Let me make it more clear to you, since you obviously didn't understand what was asked, and what his reply was. The question asked was what "future" of the current Ps3 would he have removed. The answer David Jaffe gave was the Blu-Ray player, the reason behind it was.. it makes the console too expensive.
No where in that interview did David Jaffe say he hates Blu-Ray, or "loves" HD-DVD. I suggest you re-watch the interview, I am sure Gametrailers.com stil...
