I have a different sentiment. I don't believe there actually can be A "best game of all time", or as you mentioned "best game ever made". I believe the game can be ONE OF THE BEST, since one masterpiece of a game cant undermine what other masterpieces has achieved before it's release.

That is what overhyping things does to game experience.
That is why i tried ignoring the over-the-top quotes from numerous reviewers and some fanboys/fans.
To mention some:

Bethesda has really become one my most disliked companies in recent years. Not only because of quality of their recent game's and business practices , but because of statements made by the likes of Mr.Hines here.
I'm sorry to say, but Bethesda is slowly but surely turning into another EA, another company that i used to love.
So by your logic any game that that has one or two points higher on metacritic (especially when we are talking in 90+ area) it a better game by default ?You might aswell trust the infamous metacritic user score, by that way of thinking.
Both games are evenly matched as far as GOTY awards go,that is, it could go both ways....or we can have another TLOU vs GTAV situation.

If anything it is quite possible we are looking at another TLOU vs GTAV situatio here.
Considering the next gen consoles will likely be B/C i doubt we will see a remaster release of RDR2.

I can sympathize with them myself, since i work 12-14 hours a day on a merchant ship 6 months a year.The difference is, they are likely not compensated enough for that kind of work.

I've said it back when there was only PS4 and Xbox versions of the games (before mid-gen upgrades) that there is no "best version" since the differences between the resolution's/graphics/perf ormances were so minor that they (the analyst) had to zoom into the whole screenshot to see any noticeable difference.
Now i'm saying the same damn thing with these mid-gen consoles,since it's the same situation all over again. So no, i do...
