You will be able to backtrack through the map, just like in FFX, and of course you'll be able to grind.
However, grinding was not possible at all in the demo, which was a bit sad.

The game story is 30-40 hours, just as most Final Fantasy last 25 years.

FFXVI is growing up to become a masterpiece, but so did FFVII Remake.
It's basically Final Fantasy meets GoT with an evolution of DMC combat.
All in all, I mostly see and here Final Fantasy, which is all I need
They had 1 bad release out of 20+ last 12 months.
And that "bad release" wasn't even a bad game, but destroyed by fans who never played it or had any intentions of playing it.
SE doesn't need a win, but this is clearly one anyways.

No, he doesn't say that he killed Tifa in the Japanese trailer or mentioning her by name in that part.
The scene we see is from the Kalm flashback, the voiceover that happens in the trailer at that same part is Squares way to make you think it's about Tifa.
It's a classic trailer by SE, where they want to us to believe something but it's taken out of context.
Pretty sure it's not Tifa that Sephiroth meant in the end of the trailer.
