Im from Crytek, and I came to tell you that Separable Subsurface Scattering is also coming to consoles, and they will run at an amazing 7 fps! Also, even though Crysis 1 pc outsold every version of Crysis 2 combined, we still are chasing the dream of Cod sales!
In all seriousness though, I am hoping that Crytek goes back to their roots, and focuses on the pc version, instead of making it a consolized corridor game.
Yes consoles are holding back PC. Crysis 1 is on consoles, but if you compare the versions its a night and day difference. They have deleted a lot of the vegetation, and the game looks so much worse on consoles. Also, crysis is a 2007 game. Morphological Anti-aliasing is different then other AA's. It uses post processing filter's and blur's the edge of pixels. Typically having A lot of other AA is better. But MLAA has been a great asset for the ps3, because it takes less processing power then normal MSAA, but can equal the effects of 8x MSAA. PS3 has a crappy GPU, but the Cell balances it out, so they are about even, with the PS3 maybe having a slight lead, but the PS3's ram really holds it back. The only place the PS3 shows off its potential is exclusive games like KZ3, still the PS3 and 360 are extremely close, and fighting about which is better is stupid. Hate to tell you, but the cell doesn't have some hidden power. I have no bias btw, i am a pc gamer, that just happens to know a lot about this stuff.

Definitely agree, their are other cities! What about London, its a great looking city, and has the 5th highest GDP in the world. Or maybe Chicago which has the 4th highest GDP, and has one of the top 3 skylines in the world. These are both world class mega cities that are in the top 5 most powerful cities in the world. I would mention Tokyo and Hong Kong, but it seems like Crytek is trying to keep the setting in America or close to America

They were a great dev, I think Sony should have given them one last chance. They have been with Sony for so long, but they made a few games which weren't amazing, so they just pull the plug.. Kinda pissed. Sadly this is how business works...
Well, i know the 6850 was a good card, but was more mid range. The 7850 may be more powerful though. Also, on my first post i meant to say it will be better then the xbox 720 most likely.
Still though, the 7850 is a great card, before i got a GTX 570, i was looking into getting a 6870, which had impressive price to performance ratio.
Their were a lot of mistakes in this article, let me correct them. First off, southern island gpu's aren't all high end. They are AMD's most recent gpu's, and they are low end- to high end gpu's. The PS4 will not be powerful enough to have 4K resolution on modern games. I expect it to have a radeon 7770, or maybe a 7850. It will be better then the 360 most likely, but not up to par with pc.
It is such a good movie, but it wouldn't work for a video game.
