So MS is getting their userbase to pay more to cover MS buying publishers that already sold games on Xbox, but Xbox is too weak of a platform to cover the cost so price increases, thousands fired, studios closed and games cancelled... it wouldn't surprise me if Xbox live turns to an Ubisoft style tiers pricing system, pay walling content for the highest paying subscribers.
...Microsoft are the worse thing to ever happen to gaming.
What's that got to do with MS and them spending $80 billion to buy and consolidate the industry at the cost to gamers devs and making the industry worse for everyone except for MS CEO's and shareholders?
This article isn't about Sony, I didn't mention Sony, keep fanboying out of this please.
Problem with MS is they don't care about gaming, they don't want to make games, they don't want to improve the format or move it forward, they just want all the money. Their focus is acquisitions and industry consolidation, Xbox was a good way to get their foot in the door but if MS truly cared about the industry the multi-trillion dollar company would add to it instead of just taking.
MS want's to buy a monopoly for their rental service.
As long as government bribes... err, I mean lobbying is allowed nothing will get better for the consumer. It's pay to win when you're as rich as MS
Give it a few years and it'll be "thanks for the IP's and the money but because this quarters results are a little low we have to shut you down to protect our extremely wealthy CEO's and shareholders. Eat it you suckers, Love MS"
MS would only turn up and try to fire random devs that are there presenting games, force of habit for MS they can't help themselves.
MS wants to buy and consolidate the industry, the face of Xbox is irrelevant, they want control of multiplatform publishers IP's. They tried making games themselves but couldn't be bothered, in the end they decided to buy the success of others at the cost of others.
"The Fallout TV show bring a lot of people into gaming and only one console will get the new Fallouts"
It'll be Sony then if it's just one console, why would Bethesda ignore it's biggest console platform when sales mean people keeping their jobs and bigger profits for greedy Phil and MS? It was too late for the PS crowd to save Tango and Arkane Austin, lets hope MS's greed and stupidity with buying Publishers who's games were already coming to ...
Making a light hearted comment on a dull game when you see an article is "unhealthy". I guess there are better things to do with the 20 seconds it took to write it, just think of all those other things I could have done in those 20 seconds. Maybe this was the advice I needed to help me move forward with my "unhealthy" comment, new horizons I can explore with all the free time I could have...
...no, I'm fine. The game even with the article worthy spec...
They knew before they purchased Bethesda and Activision that layoffs would be the outcome, I did and refuse to believe MS one of the richest corps in the world didn't.
MS want's control of gaming's biggest IPs for it's rental service, everything and everyone else is expendable. The layoffs are a result of $80 billion of industry consolidation, you can't merge that huge of a chunk and not expect thousands to lose their jobs... but the share price jump mea...
Why? It's the only enjoyment I get out of the £70 I paid for the POS... so, no.
MS wants a monopoly in gaming to push its rental service and control the industry that's worth countless billions. Phil is the face of Xbox that tries to present MS in a way that doesn't make them seem like the greed filled s**t pit they really are, buying and firing their way to success.
The jobs and games that are lost are the price of MS greed.
Yes, this game is so devoid of anything fun or interesting that "red dots" are all they have to excite the player base.
Don't worry people, Phil will still get his record pay and bonus and the shareholders and CEO's will be well paid and protected. This is the price of MS consolidating a massive part of the industry, screw workers, screw gamers and screw the industry one of the worlds largest and most profitable companies needs more food!
As soon as you finish creating your character this mod brings you straight to the end credits, skipping all the boring stuff immediately!
I mean they did remove Hellblade from Hellblades biggest console market. MS purchased two multiplatform publishers who's products sell far better on competing hardware and their rental service is cannibalising sales of new releases, low sales thanks to MS are of no surprise.
I just hope we don't see more studio closures and thousands more fired because MS's greed.
It's sad that the most exciting thing happening to Starfield is the $7 20 min DLC reaction. One day Starfield might reach a state where something exciting happens in the game!
