The first 4 AC games have been very dissapointing. Ubisoft has yet to deliver a good AC game.
Hopefully they can finally deliver a good game on the 5th try with AC3.
It appears the biggest flaw in AC has been fixed; the complete lack of challenege. It was impossible to die in the last 3 AC games which took all the excitment, and intensity out of the combat, and assassinations.
Apparantly that is not the case in AC3. You can not carry health potions, ...
So far there have been no good games released this year, and AC3 is one of only 2 games left worth playing for the rest of the year(the other being History Legends of War: Patton.
So GOTY will either be AC3, History Legends of War: Patton or there will be no GOTY.

Sadly if people have read all the previews, and watched all the videos for the last 6 months they basically already have played AC3.
So people can actually claim AC3 is GOTY since they have basically already played it.
I have kept myself to a bare minimum of previews, and videos. Other people with far less discipline then me have basically already played the game.
I didnt bother reading the article, but I totally agree. Big games like AC3 are absolutely flooded with tons of previews, info, videos, and spoilers.
While on the other hand small games like History Legends of War: Patton.
There needs to be a balance. AC3 has been oversaturated to death by gaming sites. Somebody need to preview small games like History Legends of War: Patton which is hasn't been preview at all.

If your preorder a game, and buy it day one for a full $60 you should automatically get the seasons pass. That should be your reward for preordering, and buying the game day 1.
Preorders would shoot through the roof, and we would have far less used game sales in game makers actually did this.
Publishers complain about used game sales, but they don't give enough incentive to preorder, and buy games on day 1.
Totally agree season passes are crap. I miss the old days when console games didnt have DLC or even patches, and games had to be 100% completely finished when they were released.

Of the 11 PS3 that have sold 5 million or more only 3 of them are exclusive. While of the 18 360 games that have sold 5 million or more 8 of them have been exclusive.
8 of 18 is a lot better then 3 of 11. PS3 exclusives have just not done well.

It just shows how overrated marketing. Yea Butler won the marketing battle for Sony against Nintendo, and Microsoft, but marketing is not what sells consoles.
I am buying AC3 day 1 on the PS3. Have fun starting AC3 after everybody else has already finished it. Not sure why anybody would want to wait 3 weeks just to play it on a different console.
I fall into catagory #4.
Except most of those games are already coming on the PS3, and 360 before the the WiiU comes out. There is very little to convince a PS3 or 360 owner to move on to the WiiU.
