Look while I agree that they want to know why they should put the effort into modeling these trophies a game company shouldnt have to ask that question whenever they put time into makin easter eggs that alot of people dont find or dont care to find. Its just something extra to say "Hey thanks for supporting our company and buying our products." You are underestimating the impact of home and the trophies system. Trophies are physical evidence that you've been there and done that i...

I agree with alot of what you all said and think that the ea rep is just asking about how the creation of content for home will benefit them. Why should they make content for the home environment. I just think he worded his statement weird. I dont know if his intention was financial gain from the content or if it would draw more people into the home environment. I have lost alot of respect for ea over the years, especially after the madden 08 and the portal fiascos. But this is a question tha...

EZcheez I really feel for ya man. I for one love all of the competition that this generation has provided because the quality of services like live and psn and of course the great games. But when a company ignores its established customer base in order to beat a competitor is a slap in the face to us as gamers. I hope more people follow your lead and demand quality..... BTW what is your PSN name? Mine is moparful99, hit me up man.....

I myself have convinced about 7 people to buy a ps3. 2 of them were friends and the rest were at work, I work at best buy. But as soon as you tell people all of the features their eyes open up. This is sony's biggest problem, marketing. Here in america marketing rules the industry and sony has been marketing but they do it inncorectly. They need to advertise their features not just the games. Half of the people that I have sold ps3 too had no idea that you could go online with the ps3 where a...

Lew the reason the 360s overheat is because of the shell of the console. This is exactly why sony opted to have a huge open case to allow the air to move freely through the system. Air takes the path of least resistance so when you have a cramped case it goes in and finds the shortest easiest path to the vents. I know that microsoft sold you on the "its your fault if you dont leave it in the middle of your living room standing upright on a stool" theory but everyone now knows this i...

Exactly right! Sony is genius, they are not only aiming the ps3 at gamers but movie buffs as well. They did the same thing with the ps2. What the haters out there dont see is that eventually alot of the people that buy it as a movie player will be intrigued by the gaming portion and pick up a game. Now the chances of them becoming gamers is unknown but the fact that you are putting ps3 into homes that other wise wouldnt have bought a game console is genius!!! I bought my ps3 as a game console...

Microsoft is pissing 50mil into the wind. They may pick up a few converts from the ps2 to the 360 and chances are that most of those people had already planned to purchase a 360. But to think that most ps2 fans are going to abandon their favorite franchises to get extra dlc for a game that will also be on the ps3 is senseless... You forget that most ps2 fans havent played gears or halo or bioshock. They've played games like socom, god of war, metal gear solid, and final fantasy... Face it, th...

I bought a replacement sixaxis controller just to have a spare in case I have a friend over or I get pissed an decide to arnold schwartzeneger my controller. Well back in october that happened, I was playing warhawk and a guy was doing the tank glitching crap and I split my controller in half! It wasnt easy but I was so pissed. So I used my original that came with the console and about 3 weeks later I slamed it against the wall and the little piece that seperates the l1 and l2 buttons came of...

So you think that blu-ray isnt going to be a factor in this generation? How dilluted are you, what sector of the consumer market has more buying power? Thats right, married couples do. What you are seeing with the sales of the 360 is people in the teens to 20's region buying the 360. Obviously theres adults buying but a majority of sales are the younger crowd. Now when a married couple that buys a brand new hdtv and wants hd content for that tv player what are they going to consider? On one h...

Fallfast I'm having a really hard time believing that you are a ps3 owner... Basing a console purchase on the extra content that you have to buy for one game is beyond me. I too have owned every single gta game. I have gta 1 and 2 I have the expansion too #2 entitled 1968 london, I own 3, vice city, san andreas, liberty city stories, and vice city stories. I even have liberty city stories on my psp. Now Im not that worried about this dlc content, it would have been cool to have but im not sel...

etownone it never gets old getting shut down and constantly coming back to bolster your statements does it? What makes you think that ps2 owners are going to run out and buy a 360 just because of dlc on the 360? You dont know that, its what you want to happen and what microsoft wants to happen. So you think that ps2 owners are going to abandon all of the franchises they know and love just to get a 360 to experience dlc? Nice reasoning. Ps2 owners know that it is coming out on the ps3 they als...

Gimped? See there you go with your agenda, twisting facts, and spewing garbage. First of all rockstar and several publications have commented on the ps3 build insisting that it ran silky smooth and looked fantastic. This is hardly gimped, your choice wording leads one to believe that the game underperforms on the ps3, when in fact it does not. Yes microsoft paid an ungodly amount of money for unseen content that the entire internet is speculating on what that content will be. You have, uninte...

Hmm another angle as well is the advertising of the game. Microsoft came out and said we will "Own the launch of gtaiv." I am willing to wager that a large portion of that 50mil is an effort for microsoft to market the game. Im sure rockstar will have their own marketing agency handling the advertising but will also have the 360, microsoft, and live logos displayed with the game. People sit here and speculate that $50 mil equals a guranteed amount of content. There is no gurantee w...

Fallfast its apparently you that has the reading comprehension dissorder. He clearly states that he was SPECULATING, he in no way confirms the dlc content just what he thinks the content will be. He was called out for it and now he's released this statement to clarify. Rockstar themselves have stated that the content will be a set of mission sets. That does not equal an entire game worth of content. Everyone needs to sit on their hands until microsoft or rockstar officially releases details o...

Hmm I guess thats why jonathan mak is instantly famous and instantly wealthy? With phyre any home brew developer can develop on a pc and "cook" the code to run on the ps3. Think before you speak my friend.

6551d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Apples to oranges my friend.... These multimillion dollar developers that you speak of produce far more complex games that have advanced A.I., tremendous amounts of physics, environmental interaction and so on. Those retail games are huge expansive collections of code. Most PSN games are small, simplistic games that are usually less then a gig of data. For example jonathan mak made his game everyday shooter, sony found him and his game, loved it and in turn bought it from him meaning he made ...

I think there is a fundamental flaw with the xna service. Microsoft has a size limitation on the size of the games they allow on xbox live. So only the really good coders will be able to get their content on to the market place. This is a problem in that it alienates people that would like to make a game but arent adept at coding. How upset would you be if you paid $99 for xna on top of the $50 for live, make a game, just to have it denied and not released on the market place? On the flip sid...
