Must admit i was slight dissapointed with Lair when I put it on but got use to the controls and loved it, had to order a copy from the US. UK delayed until November due to rumoured non axis controls.

Played it through the PSP so it must be possible.

The hype was the main part of the dissapointment, I had the same issue with Halo3 which I ditched for PGR4(excellent) pretty quickly.

"who cares" you do you logged in and posted it.

PS3 is cheaper i keep bleating it but i am fed up of paying MS £40 a year, over five years that costs you £200.

blah blah blah 360 has sold more , it's been out 2 years nearly in europe compared to 8mths. I own both so i can comment there is no diffence between them at the moment. But see whats coming and no more bad ports, looks like burnout will be the first multiplatform to show the differenc...

"confirmed the clear benefits of HD DVD, particularly its market-ready technology." Paramounts words not mine. Shame the 50 gig disc were not market ready.

When DVD was released everybody had dolby surround amps and DD was expensive. How many people bought the below par DS disks only to buy the DD one a few years later. All that can't play TrueHD anyway.

I just want to watch a movie at it's best, the interactive stuff is ok but lets get the basic sound ...

Not about consoles this one it's about movie formats and the FACT is HDDVD has not got long left. This is a huge movie which has been half release, compare it to Spiderman 3 and it falls short of a HD release.

Starter for 10: Blockbusters europe no longer stock any HDDVD in there stores.

And you will still be watching it in 12 mths because it will be the only decent thing you have to watch.

6671d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Thats not the point girls, remember bladerunner on dvd it was terrible and you had to buy it again. DVD was flipper or dual layer.

If you are releasing a format you don't release a half cooked version. Onykos amp is 400 it will be 200 on ebay and you will be buying you movies again for the new experience. Exactly the reason HD disk sales are slow (apart from the war) as people do not want to replace there dvd collections.

$150 million for produce this rubbish for the next 12 mths what a job.

I'll get on the toilet now if MS are willing to pay.

And all that we don't need HD sound but in a years time when you can decode you will buy the "remastered directors mothers cut with stereo sound and 10 second of unseen footage". Which will be the same movie on bluray.

Can you remember dvd flippers and laser disc now there a solution.

Xbox 720 will have a bluray player as hddvd will not be around, the biggest release this year will not fit on the disk.

The 720 will also have the gaming equivelant of VISTA on it so all the power will be swallowed up.

Uncle Bill will not mess with sony to much or he know after apple a few years ago he will end up bailing them out to keep the EU and the US government off his back.

Developers will not want a new console that soon,

" Microsoft are desperate" and "how do early adopters feel" probably will not get topics like this for the xbox the gutter press only go at sony for this.

With HALO been out and the latest figures on gamesindustry showing PS3 having a 173% sales increase in the UK due to the price cut I presume MS are doing it just to be nice.

Not even a story!! When somebody shows me they sold more than 1000 i will agree with all the fanboys disagreeing but i doubt many were sold. Would a US retailer by 100,000 PS3's in at the moment!! NO maybe next year.

Japs see all there goods as reliable regardless if they break down all the time. And the global perception is buy japanese for relibilty.

The elite is I believe reliable but previous version have been terrible and mud sticks.

They buy ...

We need all the consoles to do well or the next gen will be a sad state of affairs.

If one dominates this time you will end up with the PS3 for 10 years or an xbox which will have the characteristics of VISTA. Bad for all.

And leave the Wii out of it as it is a toy and loved by all.

Most people I know own both.

great news for microsoft!!! Lets see how many they sold.

Any one know? 500, 1000, or maybe a record breaking month of 2000.

I think 2 were bought and returned as they thought they were getting a matt black PS3.

6672d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

How many did they sell? Dont think any retailer in Japan would by 100,000 in based on past sales.(1500 a month)
Bugatti sold out of the veron before it was release but they only made 200.

Wake up, and the xbox is cheaper comments are even more ridiculas.

PS3 + 160 gig drive, £299 and £60 for the drive.

Elite + wireless £299 and £60 for the wireless + £40 a year to play online.

Not even including the b...

Bad example chap with 300, there are other movies and walt disney do bluray.

They don't care about me but they do care about selling discs and PS3 owners can play them out of the box(and before you get all xbox fanboyish I agree you cannot play alot else till 2008). If nobody is buying stand alone bluray players according to some reports who is buying the disc. My point is they don't rely on games console but they need them.

The other simple fact is Toshiba HD pl...

Did you actually read it, try reading again. Also look at the gadget and Audio mags, as a lot of early adopter bought the console for it HD hub abilities. T3 "gadget of the year" whathifi "buy one for bluray and by the way it also plays games".

If you put the HDDVD drive in the elite and remove the helicopter impressions HDDVD would have got a foot up on the ladder. I put mine upstair as the wife would not have 2 noisey cream boxes in the living room. She wi...

Which country in Europe do you live in Lichtenstein . "Here in europe nobody has heard of bluray".

In holland on of the biggest retailers has gone bluray. Go to any retailer in the UK and look at the shelf space.

Read the hardcore entertainment mags who rate bluray. Other fact is they are selling 2:1 in blurays favour the EU which is HDDVD's strongest base.

The lack of support will also start to hurt them, Universal have a great list of m...

Needs to include PS3/360 as players. One of the biggest audio reviewers "what hifi" who dont take any prisoners reviewed the PS3 as a bluray player alone in a supertest with stand alone players. It got 4/5 then was put up to 5/5 after the dvd upscale firmware release.

The review was based on the £425 price tag and not the new sku which does not loose any of the player features.

This is not a gamers magazine and none gamers are buyer them as cheap h...

MSNBC for godsake. Whats the discussion?

It's like having a report from columbia pictures saying " HDDVD are spoiling the HD experience.

Don't waste your bubbles

6676d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

HDDVD forum(MS financed) have just anounced the price cut will not make a difference to the HD format war. Now theres your real definition of desperation.

What do they mean we are 5 nil down with 2 minute to go, 6 nil does not make a difference??.

6677d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

MS have not done it, they have a more taxing approach.

Add wireless and the $50 a year to the 360 and it's actually more expensive. 4 years $50 per year = $200.

Sony are unfortunatly also running a business , xbox is a game to MS and this division of MS are not a finacial viable business.
