MS do not innovate they would buy somebody to do this. Sony definitely copied but i bet they thought at the time it was a gimic with limited success. The Wii at the was marked as a failure which would not keep up with the power of the others.

Dont also worry about IGN's differences between the PS3 and 360. The said in there DIRT review the PS3 version was better but scored it lower.
They did the same with skate, the PS3 version is terrible but they score the same.

Warner and New line hold the cards at the moment but the sales will push there hand. Does not matter if I buy 1 bluray or 5 hddvds they are bothered about total sales.
Only certain movies (not transformers) will sway people to buy a player for the HD experience. Star wars(fox bluray) and Lord of the rings(newline neutral) would be big player sellers. Spielburg would be another who is also kind of sat on the fence.

it's free would be the biggest update. The great MS swindle, My ps3 and 360 cost the same as i have paid MS £80 for Xblive. Less people to play online on the PS3 but you can still play.

Worth buying for those stragglers still shipping on HDDVD. $99 is not cheap if its no good in 12mths. Betamax players $10 on ebay. People but anything if its cheap.
Kmart go hddvd WOW! Best buy clearing stocks of HDDVD players out!!!. When a shop is giving things away they are usually clearing stocks, if they only did HDDVD it would seem like a deal but they don't so its a stock clearance.

Use your own judgement. it all depends on who reviews it at the reviewer office. Give it to a raging RPG fan and they will probably have no interest and score it low. (And before you RPG fans jump on me it's an example).

Take an average of the review and base your purchase on that not one review. Its not the site it's who reviews it, when the halo 3 review copies hit the sites ofiices obviously the halo fans in the reviewers office would have been fighting to review it hence the scores.
If the ratchet fan in the office would have got it , it would be a 10.

MS and there PC mentality. don't put it past them to release future titles on HDDVD. The 11 millions mugs who already have one will need to buy the external drive to play. If all these reviewers are such expert at developing games and writing stories why are they not working for ubisoft correcting these issues. Some reviewer games based on the beta if there copy does not arrive, all for the quality of games been accountable but not lazy reviewing.
