You're right for most things. Game journalism writing is somewhat lacking and most complaints are from fanboys as no one, except fanboys, will waste time complaining about game reviews. However, fanboys are sometimes right and this is the case regarding this very biased review of the Conduit, as the journalist definitely failed to explore many important features of the game and got some points wrongly.
@Zombieman1: I didn't even checked Killzone 2's controls customization as I thought the preset was good. However, the so called critic said a low point were the motion controls and It seems he never realized he could change into button presses. Also, online multiplayer is the bread and butter of FPS nowadays. As such, any shooter review has to include a discussion of it. Personally, I don't care for the score and I rarely play online, but I still know when I read a poorly written review.
Poorly made review. The author didn't tried motion plus and complaints to some basic facts that are true in real tennis, such as the difficulty of going to the net and playing there and the tiresome nature of swinging your arms for a couple of hours.
I agree with you in almost everything, except for your statement casual gamers don't care for quality. They care, but quality is not an universal value and thus they might have different standards from yourself. I think they care for the easiness of use and the high quality control Nintendo enforce at its plants.
In fact, easiness of use is the point missed by the article. Sony's controls will probably fail to the casual audience as I am sure the engineers will not resist the tem...
There are quite a few games I would find this feature useful. How many times you played an average game and stuck in some point. Being only an average game, I would rather give up than invest the time necessary to pass that portion. The same applies to rented games and even some exceptional games, as most people have difficulty doing some sort of movement that may be required at specific portions of a game.
That said, I would add a symbol at any game save in which this feature wa...
This game rules! I have being playing it every time I have a break in my iPhone. Certainly the best $99c I ever spent.
Curiously, I have the exact opposite feeling. I think they will do a hell of an action game that will miss the exploration side that makes Metroid so attractive to me.
@Gamertags: It seems you don't like videogames. Perhaps you should try another hobby.
Good news! There are a lot of Midway's classics I would like to see again.
EA Sports' NBA Live has been a joke in the Wii, so lets hope 2K Sports will do better. Competition is always good and, perhaps, the Wii will receive a good basketball game. However, considering the pathetic efforts with MLB 2K for Wii, I would place much hope.
If he's hosting a developer roundtable later, then he'll be showing some new game. Probably something for next year and thus not among the second semester releases that will probably be the main focus of Nintendo's conference.
"People were uploading pics, setting playlists, downloading new demos, hopping on the still FREE Network, and in general, doing whatever they wanted."
What a great party! I'm glad I wasn't invited.
The PS3 has at least two great party games: Buzz and Singstar. However, there is no way it is as accessible as the Wii and thus the popularity of the former in parties.
Clever. This is the kind of puzzle I could believe Kojima would prepare.
I was looking forward to Tecmo Bowl Wii. Good luck to Tecmo with this one.
This is a sweet deal. I own MP 1 & 3 and I will gladly buy this new package as there is nothing like the feeling of controlling Samus with IR and motion controls.
This is a good idea. They already have Pelé, which is great. Perhaps they can assemble an all-star cast of retired players.
Consoles will definitely transform into something different. I wouldn't be surprise if, in a number of years, homes would have a central computer distributing services, including gaming, to terminals such as, TV sets, sound systems or actually any other electronic or even kitchen appliance. So, it is possible, although I refrain to make any futuristic prediction.
I am not familiar with the anime characters, but I dig the little girl with a broom and the dude who can call a giant fire breathing dog to aid him.
I wouldn't be worried about delays if they turn out to be relatively clean games. However, it became so common to American and European developers to release half polished games with virtually no debuging that they will be unable to comply this regulation. Still, European market is big enough to justify the extra effort so it may be good in the end.
PRICE IS NOT CORRELATED WITH MANUFACTURE COST. This is a lesson people seems to not get in the game culture. Sony will try to keep the price as high as they can as they are suffering from accumulated losses over the year. I am pretty sure the new PS3 Slim will be cheaper to manufacture than the old version. However, they will apply the same tactic they are using with the PSP Go. They will keep the same price to maximize their profits as the sales increase due to the introduction of a new mode...
