Yes, corporal punishment is gone but that's not the only way of disciplining a child. It IS tough to get through to kids now but it's not impossible. The problem is a lot of parents just aren't willing. There's a selfishness to a lot of adults now. It's easier to give a child a tablet or device to distract them, than it is to entertain them yourself.
I'd agree but we've been saying that for years now and the parents just aren't up to task to be honest.
You just missed it then. There was plenty of flak given over the expensive collectors edition only coming with a download code. Same with the standard edition cases just being codes in a case.

I know what you mean. I took a more relaxed approach to gaming 2 years ago. I've been more laid back and trudging through my back log at my leisure than anything else these days. And I find a lot of enjoyment in not trying to keep up with the trends. It's also far more affordable.
I also went big into boardgames and tabletop gaming in general as I found it easier to get my friends in for a game that way.
