Realistically Xbox can't do anything about it! Only Sony can, By absolutely ruining it for themselves with the PS5 somehow.
With ad little as we know about them now I'll be going with the PS5 myself. Sony have spent generations building good faith with me. Xbox have spent years demolishing it.

I'm expecting a platform leap. It was supposed to release quite some time ago now and they've been very tight lipped. Could be making its way to next gen platforms and that's why they're so hush for now
Xbox padded the launch titles with 360 games that they swapped development platform for near completion (Ryse) and then some absolutely shocking indie titles like that dragoon thing and loco cycle.
There was nearly nothing of substance to differentiate the Xbox from ps4 in early software

It's the single biggest feature on the Xbox 1 and the biggest disappointment of the PS4. It's absolutely essential to the PS5 to have it. A lot of people may not upgrade without it.
I'll get the PlayStation 5 at launch because it has BC included but if it didn't I'd be waiting a while and clearing my backlog first

Game Pass and services like it are going to be interesting changes to the review system. They have to the potential to make reviews almost worthless.
Of I can try a game out at launch with little or no financial risk to myself I'm not likely to care what anybody has to say about it
