I can't help to think what's going on with this as well.
I honestly don't see what the big deal is about what he said. and he has a point.
I don't seen anything wrong with halo anniversary, or Ico collection. 2 games just approached differently.

the Tokyo street demo has made me think about the controller potential in ways I haven't though, so that's good too.
There should be a penalty for switching to easy at anytime on your game save (withheld achievements/trophies?)
if not, then SE handled the easy mode implementation pretty poorly.
