I admit I chuckled at the 1080s part. won't be surprised if people got upset though.
you can never go wrong with having the actual option to play older games but optimized to play on HD TVs.
You don't have to get the collection, but It's nice to know you can if you want it without having to buy from collectors.
that reminds me of the console pack 360 had with vesperia in Japan.

Publisher bigwigs totally alienated Tales fans completely expecting a tales games on ps3. It's not a crazy assumption to make. PS2 was leading in RPGs and Tales games have always been on the Sony platform before...
It's really insensitive. paying out and funding new IP and making it exclusive is commendable (heavy Rain), but taking an established franchise away from a good chunk the fanbase is pretty cold.

That's because Nintendo was talking about real time game footage. Sony ans MS weren't.
People are saying Iwata's stating that the WEiiU is on the same level as the other 2 systems, but what we see on paper suggest a edge in performance.
I remember GC. That gen, Nintendo had really modest benchmarks for the system. GC has something like 25 million polys, PS2 has something like 70 million. xbox claimed 200 mil.
Look how that turned out.

They bought them for the IP that, for the most part refuse to let them make games with, they gave banjo, Conker and Kameo a shot, and MS as of now aren't allowing follow ups in those series, and instead, we get kinect mini games.
that is true that they need to gain experience on HD development.
but the rule Nintendo has always had was to use everything their own hardware has to offer. they have always made up to around 4 title each gen that truly pushed the current hardware.
Nintendo may also see a lot of multiplats from current gen games, with a bump in graphics over the older systems too.
If Nintendo cafe is strong as people say it is, no one will care quite as much if exclusives are using the best that PS3 has to offer at this point anymore.
PS3 may have now lost that edge now.
still, PS3 will hold up quite a bit better against Cafe then 360, I think.

I'd prefer a FFVII-2 follow up over just totally retooling the original.
I rather they just simply make an enhance version of original FF7 with tons of extra scenarios consumes and Easter eggs of the base game.
