Wrong.

3rd party exclusives produce less games overall (unless to save a dying project or fund a new one). It's a total lose lose situation. MS gives xbox a budget for games, xbox division wasted its resources on securing a game it already had...a game that probably won't even move many consoles too... Both xone and PS4 owners are out a game now.

It's the definition of unhealthy competition.

Sony's conference was shiitake mushrooms but MS paying money for 3rd party exclusives games (that would have been on the system anyways) really decreased xone's already low goodwill. I thought Spencer realized that a major problem with 360 was the lack of 1st and 2nd party games...no one gains anything by 3rd party exclusives unless it's to start a project or save a dying one...

Sony didn't exactly lose goodwill but didn't excite either, so I suppose MS d...

Uhh, TR exclusive came as a surprise...but a bad one for all parties.

Very nice graphics, the gameplay and acting aren't impressing me as much though. Kinda like xone's The Order. Great graphics but looks a bit generic, although, the Order's strory seems more interesting imo.

@xb1ps4

By your logic why make new games at all because there's a chance they may not be good or successful. We should stop creating new IP's all together right?

Unless MS paid a 3rd party to create a game like Ryse or saved a dead or dying project, every gamer should be against 3rd party exclusives. They create no new content.

Would you rather have two new games with the competition being able to play one, or just one new game. ...

I went from planning on getting an xone at some point to not wanting one at all.

My biggest issue with 360 under Mattrick was the lack of 1st and 2nd party and MS using revenue generated from 360 gamers to buy 3rd party exclusive content which creates nothing in the end. It's essentially paying for something I already had.

It seems the same anti-gamer business practices that Mattrick was famous for are to some degree continuing under Spencer. I much rat...

It means xone, PS4, and PC owners all get one less game. That no new content is being created, more than two thirds of the core market is being alienated and is a lose lose situation for all involved.

If MS spent the money on a 1st or 2nd party game, Xone owners could have had TR and a new game. Now they have TR....which they had already.

I hate 3rd party exclusivity. I don't enjoy my games more knowing other gamers that would have been able to play it...

It's actually a lose lose situation for everyone if people think about. Exclusive 3rd party content creates no new content. Instead of xone fans having TR and a 1st or 2nd party exclusive all they have is TR...a game they would have had anyways. Drawing from MS games' budget to pay to prevent other gamers from having the game costs xone owners a game also so both xone and PS4 owners get one less game.

Just like paywalls, DRM, always online, ect. the only one benef...

Any person supporting this is not thinking it through.

Paying big money for 3rd party exclusives just means that MS won't pay big money for a new 1st/2nd party exclusive.

3rd party exclusives are a lose lose. They create NOTHING. Instead of MS fans having TR and some other game, they only have TR....which they would have had already.

Smart for MS maybe, but bad for the consumer whether xbox owner or PS4 owner - each have one less game...

Square too, I don't want to support them anymore.

3rd party exclusives like this are a lose lose. Instead of MS fans having TR and a 1st or 2nd party exclusives, they have a game they would have had anyways. Each party has one less game.

I can't support any company involved in these business practices. Instead of paying for new content, your paying for something you would have had anyway only that someone else can't have it. It creates nothing....

Crystal Dynamics just ruined itself, it won't save xone and Playstation fans will not support them after this.

....and I was starting to like Square again too...

I feel these business practices are unacceptable, 3rd party exlcusives result in less content for everyone. Instead of having Tomb Raider and an MS 1st or 2nd party exclusive you only have a game you would have already had. Big lose lose.

Can't support Square anymore.

Again, instead of funding its own exclusives, MS is paying money for a game that xone gamers would have been able to play regardless. So instead of having 2 games, Tomb Raider and an some real exclusive, all there is Tomb Raider...which they would have had before.

Third party exclusives result in no additional content. It's just using game making budgets to prevent other gamers from accessing something that they would have had.

It's a lose lose...

Haven't bought a COD in a while but that looks fun. May have to pick it up.

@ Redwin

I only disagreed with your statement that it didn't run well on old PS3s. Unless your hard drive had issues it would have ran the same.

To some people Sleeping Dogs is they're favourite open world game of last gen.

It was actually a great game, and much better than Watchdogs in the story and driving mechanics department.

I care a lot about 60 FPS, 1080p not so much. Of course 1080p @ 60 FPS would be ideal but given that they're $400 boxes I'd be fine with 900p or even 720p if 60fps was locked in.

Anytime the camera is moving, which is almost all the time, 720p at 60FPS looks a lot less blurry than 1080p at 30 FPS.

Coincided with Kinect. MS again abandoned core gamers chasing after the Wii casual crowd.

Xbox has abandoned the people that made it popular after about 3 years every gen. Sony was funding new exclusives creating masterpieces and MS was spending hundreds of millions, not on games, but on advertising Kinect down our throats trying to capture the casual market.

Too bad for them the Wii crowd realized it better to play free games on the smartphone already in t...

So MS now knows what Sony realized all last gen and is copying Sony's playbook line for line. PS3 focused on exclusives for soooo long while MS thought it was better have 350million dollar marketing campaigns for Kinect rather than fund new IPs.

Before MS does anything with xbox they should ask themselves, what would Sony do.
