Big difference between funding an original 3rd party project, like Ryse or Bloodborn and paying for something already made.
The former produces new content, the latter is paying for what you already had...only the competition can't have it anymore.
3rd party exclusives are fine when funding a project that wouldn't exist, or saving a dying project because it provides gamers with content they wouldn't have had otherwise. Everything else is BS.
It's almost sad that a remake had the same effect on bolstering console sales as Titanfall. But TLOU is a masterpiece.
If anything it made me want an xone less. My problem with 360 was lack of 1st party.
Excellent!
PS4 owner here...Spencer is completely right, framerate is more important than resolution in most cases.
A game that's 720p at 60FPS is much clearer when moving the camera (which is all the time while playing) than 1080p at 30 FPS. 30FPS blurs, 60FPS maintains a crisp image during movement.
Various developer comments have said the improvements will be marginal...or a synonym of marginal...pedantic much? I'm not going to go find every link.
DX12 will see significant improvements on PC only...if you don't believe it, fine, it's your prerogative.
Wait and see what happens when it releases.

Spencer himself said not to expect a major change.

I will buy this to support them. They make good games.
I hope neither PS4 or xone get anymore 3rd party exclusive games. Unless Sony/MS is providing funding to start a project or revive a dead one, 3rd party exclusivity is just using game budgets to pay for a game we would have had anyways. It takes away from the game budget that could have been used on a different project.
I rather they just put the money towards creating new 1st and 2nd party games. 3rd party exclusives create no new content. It's horrible for gamers. ...
It's already been confirmed by MS themselves that DX12 improvements will be very marginal on xone. It's already coded to the metal.
Uh that not sexist at all. First of all, those girls are wearing more clothing than half the girls in their 20s do on a regular basis and second, there's nothing sexist about pin up girls.
Just keep them out of the workplace like shirtless firman calendars because they may be overtly sexually charged and inappropriate, but sexist no.
People don't know the definition of sexist. It's not using sex to sell, it's a prejudice, stereotyping, or di...
It was available for pre-order on PC and PS4 until yesterday. MS funded nothing.
If it was Deus Ex I would have been really upset. As far as TR exclusivity goes, I just think Square-Enix is stupid. This may effect their goodwill and negatively impact their other games.
The trailer was ridiculous, but it's MGS where the story hits more emotional chords than 99% of games trying too hard to be something, be it serious, funny, political, social commentary, etc. A lot of games try to force the story down your throat and end up being lame. MGS never lets you forget that you're playing a game. It doesn't take itself seriously but paradoxically ends up being very serious and funny at times. In one moment your smirking, then next on the verge of tear...
If you look at 1st and 2nd party, 3rd party releases not on xone (like FFXIV), indies, and F2P, PS4 is the place to play if you want the largest variety of games.
@Ripsta
That's more hours per dollar than the full game if you think about...than most SP games actually. So $15 is great.
I hope they add a new game plus.
VGchartz has been less than useless for tracking this gen. Every month they're not even close. Last gen they're were much closer more of the time. This gen they're embarrassing themselves. They'd do better to save their reputation if they just stopped posting guesstimates and simply tallied officially released numbers.
I don't trust any of their numbers at all anymore, not games, not consoles, nothing. The site has lost all credibility. It's usel...
First to 10 million probably wins...especially considering how far behind the competition is from 10 million SOLD TO CUSTOMERS. Iz crazy that happened that fast.
And to think, I could have gone either way. I had both PS3 and 360 last gen. My plan was to buy the most powerful console for $500 or less. Too bad MS just didn't release a powerhouse, with 256 ESRAM, higher tier GPU, without Kinect for 499.99. They probably could have turned Sony into Nintendo.
Small team can only manage one version at a time...went with the console with the larger customer base...makes sense.
I imagine if it's popular enough they'll have it ported to PC and xone.
