They have plenty movies that are more violent, and books for that matter.
The game looks somewhat interesting, good for a bad day.
Now if someone could make a game about being in stuck in traffic after work and you car turning into a monster truck so you run over the driver....or a road rage game that allows you to shoot people that cut you off and don't signal would work too.
If I was planing on buying a new console and most of my friends with a next-gen console already had one particular brand, chances are I'd buy that same brand so I can play online with them regardless of prices.
Xone had an amazing promotion where you essentially got the console for $280 (came with Madden and another free game of your choosing). I think it obvious that given how important online is in todays games, the biggest factor influencing potential purchasers are w...
I'll laugh if Destiny gets voted GOTY by users despite all the hate and bad reviews. It would turn game reviewing on its head and demonstrate how out of touch these so called leaders of gamer preferences are.
Few games have as large a solid fanbase. If 3.5 million people are logging in an average 3 hrs a day and that continues, not only will it be one of the most played games this year by average users, it should garner a lot of GOTY votes on sites like IGN and Gamespo...
Feel bad for all the people that bought 1 month Plus subscription just to play this game.
This is somewhat unrelated but the first thing that came to mind was how sad it will be that a racing game will have a better story than a supposed space epic. Oh well, I still enjoy Destiny with friends.
The credibility of most review sites is far too questionable. And even if they are credible, they're too influenced by their own egos and god complexes, industry friendships/relationships, PR, hype, and gaming industry politics. Can't rely on Metacritic users as it is full of fanboys giving 0s and 10s to games they've never played.
I think the only place to find reliable reviews comes from average users showing an Amazon Verified Purchase.
The whole thing also seems confusing to me so I don't know much aside from that anyone showing support for #gamergate is now being demonized due to the actions a small number of extremest who also support it.
The "anti #gamergate" supporters have used the horrible threats from a vocal minority of gamergate supporters to label all #gamergate supporters as supporters of violence against women, essentially stereotyping all "#gamergater's" as monsters...
Review scores a becoming useless to me this gen IME.
Maybe more sites should just use a pass or fail metric. The difference between 7, 8, 9 and 10 and everything in between is becoming very blurred as that is where subjectivity (and whatever other personal factors that go into reviews) have their greatest effect. Lately it seems like most major sites are just so off from my own and what seems like a substantial number of gamers' preference.
While I can&...
I'm very excited for this game, can't wait to play it. I agree with the 30-60 FPS statements. Given the limitations of consoles due to their (relatively) low price, I think some games would benefit from 60 FPS and others 30. I also think that some games would benefit from 900p too if it means better textures and other graphical effects elsewhere.
It's all about making the best looking and playing game based on perception not raw numbers. Honestly, I sit severa...
I've gotten to the point that game review from major outlets mean nothing to me. They're so off from what I consider a fun game worthy of full price.
Too often it seems what they give a 5 or 6 I consider 8 or 9 and what they give an 8 or 9, I consider a 5 or 6. Especially when it comes to indie games.
I just want plus version...
Destiny, I was very excited for the next Bungie game and I liked the gameplay in beta and thought it would be fun with friends who I knew were also getting it AND expected it to have a vast universe and epic story...
The posters above were right, a single Mass Effect side mission has more depth than Destiny's entire story. However, despite how disappointing the game is, I've still played over 70hrs because it is a very enjoyable game with friends.
That's very cool.
The few people that use it primarily use it is as a microphone, not a 3D camera which is what it was designed for.
MS could have included a cheap (but probably higher quality microphone/speaker) without the camera and had Kinect's best function - voice control - in every box at $400.
I'd say Kinect utterly failed as a new way to control games and as an advanced camera. All of it's useful functionality could have been achieved with a cheap stand...
Personally, I'm not buying any sub 30 FPS games this gen. If the engine can't handle what's going on at 30 FPS then lower other effects.
I much rather we don't have a situation like last gen where you have all these games trying to push the graphical envelope but become choppy 20-30 FPS messes. Too me a constant variable sub 30 framerate looks far to choppy to be enjoyed.
I have no interest in playing Ryse on my PS4 or anywhere.
Destiny is a great game if you have friends to play with.
So no one saw the Street Fighter Movie or the Mario Brothers movie? Those were pretty bad.
What I don't get is how Titanfall reviewed so well as it despite having all the "flaws" Destiny has and more.
I just hope it's not 3rd party exclusive
