But the games I'm most excited for, BF4 and Watchdogs, are on PS4.
Which is cheaper..
..and more powerful.
I think well start seeing the noticable PS4 graphical advantages late next year and the gap will widen throughout the gen.
The mutliplats games this year will be about the same though. I doubt the code is optimized for either system given how new they are.
PS3, I'm done paying for Live.
Most exclusive content isn't that exclusive or isn't that great.
Will all the money they're spending to keep content away from other gamers, they should have just absorbed the cost of Kinect and sold the thing for $400.
All this does is make me like MS less. These types of business tactics create zero new content, only deprives gamers of stuff they otherwise would have had.
I'm getting a PS4 but the Xone UI looks fine to me, no major complaints here.
So I guess PS4 actually turned up winning the HD console battle and Wii won overall.
How many people are interested in Xone but aren't getting it because all their friends are getting the cheaper more powerful PS4.
Forcing Kinect and the concomitant $100 higher price tag will have a terrible snowball effect. It's not just the more price conscious PS4 buyers MS is losing, it's also the people that are buying a PS4 simply to game with their friends despite being interested in xone's offerings.
Xone is interesting but I don'...
Xbox brand has gone to downhill since Kinect was announced.
Kinect has been sinking the Xbox brand in gamers minds every since it was announced years ago.
Xone could have been the same price or cheaper than PS4, then it would have been a tough decision on which to get.
Currently, it's a no brainer - 99% of best games are multiplats, all will look/run as well or better on PS4 and the entry price is significantly cheaper.
Microsoft focus on Kinect has only deteriorated the xbox brand in the eyes of gamers.
Sentiment to 360 turn to vitriol not long after it was announced and now MS is releasing a console that costs more and is less powerful than it competitor, all for Kinect.
Imagine if xone was had the same power and price as PS4, or had it's current power but was$350. Personally, for me, it would be a much harder decision. Currently, I don't even consider getting xo...
I pretty much chose it for the price/power advantage and all my friends are getting PS4 so I'd be alone on Xone multiplayer.
I guess I'll just have to provide my own verdict on the triggers on launch day. Everything I've heard said that the triggers are the best ever experienced, although, if enough people complain Sony will probably change them.
Can't wait for launch!
October release date, same day as BF4
Wouldn't be surprised if consoles were updated like iPhones (evey few years not yearly thought) with back and forwards compatibility, just at lower fidelity for the older versions.
I'd probably still go with the more powerful PS4 at $400 given that both require online subscriptions, I prefer PSN Plus's attitude towards free and highly discounted content.
I've been burned and exploited by MS way to much this gen - my 360 literally makes me feel bad, it's worthless without Live and I can't bring myself to support MS business practices any more, specifically offering no additional content but requiring that you pay for it anyways. Time...
@ annus
I stand corrected. Thanks for the info, appreciated.
PS4 is the best option for all multiplats.
Equal or better graphics/performance and cheaper initial console purchase.
Did you?
Or the majority of people agreeing with you? Facepalm at the N4g majority opinion.
"“We do have a system in place that allows you use, say a massive spaceship or a large boss character as an occluder, which is pretty cool.”
Occlude:
shut (something) in : they were occluding the waterfront with a wall of buildings.
So next-gen the environment walls are going to be a lot more pretty and detailed. I just hope I don't meet those borders so often.
I'm very mindful of the future:)
