The future of gaming isn't a console at all, not in the conventional sense at least. It's all going to based on the cloud. Digital games, digital movies --discs and storage capacity are going to become a thing of the past.
Rip on OnLive all you want -- if they have the backing of the big three, they'd be the future.
Heinlein's Starship Trooper had nothing to do with genetically engineered super soldiers trained from birth. It has everything to do with a volunteer military where service leads to citizenship and promotion is based on experience and not a college degree.
They also killed indigenous people using nuclear weapons and Dizzy was a dude who gets killed in the first chapter.
ONI for PC was pretty badass.
BlazBlue vs Guilty Gear
Make it happen!
Funny fact: the song that people are debating isn't original at all. Hans Zimmer merely slowed down an Edith Piaf song.

Mind blown?
I think that happened with BC2. I don't recall any snags with MoH though, but I didn't play that half as much as BC2 so maybe I missed the downtime.
I love DICE to death, but I'm not counting on a smooth launch. It'd be awesome if it did, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
Still a day one purchase for me, though.
Long time Battlefield fans have come to expect this, to be honest. I can't think of a single Battlefield game that has launched without multiplayer crashing for the first couple weeks.
Surprisingly, Medal of Honor was smooth sailing, so hopefully Battlefield 3 will follow suit.
This feels like the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube generation all over again.
DICE has consistently done an excellent job with console versions of Battlefield since Bad Company. In fact, it's arguable they've been giving PC the bum deal as of late.
That said, consoles are inherently limited, whereas the sky is the limit for the PC where fancy graphics cards and new processors are king.
As long as the player cap is around Bad Company 2 level, I won't have any complaints.
I wasn't a fan of Metro 2033, but using bullets as currency was a neat idea.
So...an email warning employees about leaking information on the Internet gets leaked on the Internet?
I love it!
WHY CANT I ORDER THESE!?!?!?!?!
I certainly hope they get a better preorder bonus before the game launches. Otherwise, I'm gonna cancel this and plop it down where I can get gift cards or something.
Muslims aren't a race. It's a religion.
Isn't the saying, shoot for the moon because if you miss you'll still land amongst the stars?
Because people sure love their soap boxes.
Going out to buy it now!
This.
Was just about to say that.
I'm guessing 5-10 years max. Once high speed Internet becomes more widely available, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see physical media being phased out entirely.
It's happening with music...
It's happening with PC games...
It's happening with movies....
It's begun to happen with video games (games on demand, etc.)....
It's the direction that the industry is evolving in.
