So stupid. I don't even have words for how stupid that is.
Japan and Germany happily buy Apple and other US products.
That makes no sense at all. Supporting indie devs isn't going to slow down big game development.
Also, no man's sky? Are you really turning your back on stuff like that and towerfall because it's indie? Crazy.
There are hundreds of great indie games too, not just a handful.
We need both. I'd buy a console for stuff like No Mans Sky, indie or not.
Make anything into tiny anim-gifs and they'll compare well. XD GIF still only supports 256 unique colours.. Eew.
Agree totally, but audio producers are often listening in stereo rather than surround..
I can get away with pretty loud surround, we have pretty smallish brick rooms/houses.. :) it's just not always practical, but when it is it can be pretty amazing.
I guess I'd compare it to hobbyist pc building, you can get a really nice setup with a little more work, but it isn't for everyone.
Agree about weird audio levels, but many sets have audio level equalisers.. Mine has a "night" mode that makes sure you don't have to keep shuffling the volume, and can hear stuff in the quiet lulls.
Yes I have. Positional sound from right next to your ears is not likely to be as good as a good surround setup. Nice big drivers around the room you can have sound more readily in front and behind you.
It depends on you having your living room set up well for it though.
I love my headsets in some situations, but if I want the best possible surround experience I use my surround system. Also blocking out the family and being totally isolated isn't practica...
I've not used a headset that works as well as a half decent home cinema setup in terms of positional sound.. Saying that, a ton of little speakers can be impractical too.
So far I'm favouring Warlock. But hunter seems fun too..
@RBDrift - Apple uphold local law.. In the Uk we take EU law differently to some countries, but we have a 6 year fitness for purpose thing on some tech. So my screen getting contaminated through no fault of my own - they felt obliged to replace.. Tbh, if they hadn't told me about that law i would never have known - they went out of their way to make me happy, and I got a £300 repair for nothing.. Compared to other retailers who'd make you take out insurance etc that shouldn't...
Amazon are genuinely very good at customer service, no questions asked returns, everything nice and simple.
Apple's customer service is absolutely some of the best. I just got an iMac screen replacement for free 2 years out of warrenty.. And when a friend's laptop fried itself she got a free replacement too, also years out of warrenty.. Any time we've had to have a repair or replacement it's been done within 5 days.
And free genius appointments are pretty much all a company could offer, I can see how they score highly.
Well, that was partly FUD. :P viruses, spyware, Trojan horses, oh my! (Easily prevented)
Bloat? Not an issue. Forced to upgrade frequently? Not forced, even a meagre setup can last years, just some of use choose to upgrade frequently.
I'll agree about the heat/power/electricity stuff. I keep my pc in a different room to my TV though for silent running when couch gaming. :)
Windows doesn't really matter, you don't actually have to ...
Usable PS3 emulation is a Hell of a long way off. Seriously. Believing otherwise is insanity. Years. And even then, the hardware most of us have now will not be able to do it fast enough.
Better to game on both and not miss out on a) the best multiplats and b) some of the exclusives on both platforms.
I need my TLOU, my Mariokart and my Civilization... None is better than the others as they're all totally different and incomparable.
:) Someone not hating on Pewds?! That's rare around here!
It's profitable and has it's niche. It's far from dead.
It doesnt have to beat anything, just carry on with the 1st party, indies, and occasional 3rd party stuff.
Anecdotal stuff like this doesn't really amount to anything. Mine have been durable, standing up to drops, and I got mine at launch.. (also, doesn't amount to anything)
Saying that, the rubber on the sticks is too easy to wear down.. Not a biggie though, just a bit annoying.
I don't think anyone in a European country where the X1 released refused to buy it because it hadnt launched in other parts of Europe. That makes no sense. We're a ton of countries that all speak different languages.. :)
