RELEASE THE "HDMI" CABLE
Right now on the fence between the Sammy 56" LED LDP 1080p set or the 52" Flat Panel LCD 1080p set.
Once you go HD ... it is very hard to go back. I rather play on my 19" HD LCD than my 36" CRT set

The Sony XBR sets are FANTASTIC sets. But as was said, the Samsungs and Sharp sets are also on the top of the list.
I for one WILL go with Samsung. Not because I hate Sony (they make some KILLER sets without a doubt), but for the simple fact the Sammy give me MORE OPTIONS in regards to 1080p connection.
HDMI = 1080p
VGA = 1:1 1920x1080
Component = 1080p
So if the Sammy give me the 1080p option on "ALL MY INPUTS", well then it give...
When i had my VGA cable hooked up and went to set resolution, I think my option to choose WIDESCREEN or NORMAL was greyed out.
Maybe it was due to the monitor it was plugged into. Regardless, it looked fantastic on my 19" HDTV/PC MONITOR

This Update is bricking moded/hacked 360's.
IF not, contact MS support.
I am now curious if it is SONY specific, because as I said, my buds Sammy is PERFECT with the update.
I do know for a fact that on the XBR2 SXRD models, although the manual says it does do 1920x1080 over VGA ... in reality it does not.

Sammys work awsome with the 1080p and the Westy sets.
The set has to be cable to ACCEPT the signal or you are SOL.

The VGA port (even though the manual says it will) in fact WILL NOT support 1920x1080. That is why they do not get full screen on that set. The misprint for the 1920x1080 over VGA has been CONFIRMED by a good number of people for the SXRD XBR2. THIS PISSED ME OFF !!! The set has great PQ.
The component input on that set WILL ONLY ACCEPT a 1080i signal.
So that is why they are having trouble. I looked at these...

They know the risk ... took it .... and it didn't work out.
To me XBL is a "HUGE" part of my 360 that I love and use DAILY .... I will not risk it.
If they are that rough on a Disc they should not have a 360.
