Actually, YES ... "MOST" of this has already been said today with the accpetion of the supply shortage possibility.
For those who don't want to read, here is the short version":
1. Old games look NO DIFFERNET (no enhancment at all)
2. PS3 will not Upscale your DVD's (competitors machine will)
3. Sony will not meet current forcasted supply demands to parts shortage in the Blu-ray high-definition disc drive (BR STRIKES AGAIN)

with the premium system ($100 more) you get a ZH!T load more bang for your buck

Keep in mind the A2000 is a SXRD (or LCOS) technology. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than the DLP technology.
Look into the JVC Lcos sets as well.
AWSOME SETS and MUCH CHEAPER than the Sony stuff.

Beside being a MS fan I am also a Sony fan, and you are correct in saying you see the loyality to Sony all over this site ....... PROBLEM IS .... it is almost to a CULT level where folks are very close minded.
As much as I look forward to my PS3 ..... I am not that close minded to look BEYOND the ISSUES that Sony is having or mistakes they are making just because I look forward to the console.
Remember David Koresh , Mr Manson, etc, etc .... they had ...

By going this route, I hope they will not be hitting some of the same issues Sony has/is hitting right now.
YOUR OWN CHIP SET (ala CELL) makes for harder development and harder compliance issues. Well not really Sonys (IBM invented it), but I guess what I mean is GAMBLE on an unproven technology.
Not saying they will ... just hoping they will NOT hit them same road blocks.

I am not impressed by this news AT ALL.
I really hope a 3rd party makes optional controllers that take regular batteried much like my 360 does.
On two "AA" batteries I get about 25 hours. And at costco I get a pack of 48 for $15. Not to mention the rechargable I already had and use as well.
