Nintendo's in a really good position right now. If they stay aggressive with 3rd party support, and continue to make great first party software, they'll be fine.
I would argue that New Super Mario Bros. U should be considered essential. Mario (in some way, shape, or form) has been available on Nintendo all consoles since the NES, and has become an expectation. Reggie explained this at Nintendo's E3 press conference. Mario is the face of Nintendo, and from what I have witnessed, everyone that buys a Nintendo console will eventually buy at least 1 Mario game. So, why argue that it's not essential?
Black Ops 2 is much harder to d...
Wow...
You might as well have written your own opinion piece lol.
"I ask Nintendo fans one question: Why would I want to buy a Wii U if I am A) Not a fan of Nintendo’s games, B) Already own a HD console, C) Am perfectly content to wait until Sony/Microsoft release their next systems?"
- Is that a rhetorical question? I am only asking because I don't think that anyone really expects somebody like "you" to buy a WiiU in ...
Nice.
I am definitely interested.
Nice read.
I love the timing of this piece. On the day when we receive the most WiiU news, this author barely mentions the WiiU at all. Infact, the DS and 3DS are never mentioned... but tagged just the same (at this point).
Thanks for sharing. You know, I am quite sure that I have an old PC collecting dust in my basement somewhere. Perhaps I will take the authors advice, and never purchase a PC again.
Great game. Buy it.
Well, if the shoe fits...
Agreed.
Personally, I have never seen a launch window this strong. Apparently, there will be something for everyone day 1.
I will be picking up:
- Black WiiU
- Rayman Legends
- New Super Mario Bros. U
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2

...Try to sit down really really slowly lol.
P.S.
I am loving every second of this.
LMAO
...I love it.
Power Glove > Infinity Gauntlet
Oops, I meant to click Agree.
Sorry about that...
But yea, I like my Zelda the way that it is, and imo these are 2 series that are successful for different reasons.
That being said, if Nintendo wanted to add more RPG type elements to the next Zelda, why not look at Elder Scrolls?
@ Ben_Grimm
That's funny because I don't recall ever bringing up sales either. I was just attacking your biblical reference. You said it yourself. Mario is good, but not uh... "Jesus status" good, and somehow that's a big problem. It's almost as if Mario has to part the Red Sea to get a little respect (oops, there I go again lol).
Anyway, how can you possibly criticize modern Mario titles, and later praise Super Mario 2? You do reali...
"Now I'm not saying his games arent good anymore but it's definitely not Jesus on Earth status anymore."
So... in order to be successful, a video game must have "Jesus on Earth status"? Lmao, and I thought that I was picky. Well, at least we know who's playing the part of Judas in this comedic drama.
FYI:
Putting Super Mario 2 in the same paragraph with Super Mario 3 and World is a sin (pretty clever, right?) shame on y...
Well, personally, it takes a lot of hype for me to warm up to any RPG. So, I am generally late to the party. Infact, before Xenoblade Chronicles, the last RPG that I completed was Chrono Trigger (Super Nintendo).
The only games that I play on PC, besides roms, are RTS and turn based strategies. You know, games that only require a mouse (maybe a few hotkeys).
Anyways, now that you know my whole life story lol, I am gonna support the ME 3 WiiU version. As a fan...
To be honest, that's why I've really been on the fence with ME3 for WiiU. I don't own a 360, so I would have to buy ME & ME2 on PC, which is fine... but yea, point taken.
The thing is, my PC was "demoted" to a small bedroom desk years ago. I can't really "show off" any of my PC games. That is, unless I want to play a tedious game of "disconnect... reconnect".
This sounds like a great port. I would hate for this game not to meet sales expectations. After all, I am guessing that most gamers have already played through the trilogy. I am one of the few that hasn't played Mass Effect yet, so it might be about time to hop on the bandwagon. Now I have to buy the first two titles on PC... or find the ISO files *crosses fingers*.
*sigh*...and there goes the 2012 gaming budget! I sure hope that the family likes Christmas cards.
This is the same site that lied about SEGA's (Sumo Digital's) graphics quote.

I'll pass.
Agreed.
It does not take long for the "tables to turn" in the video game industry. With a 1+ year lead, Nintendo could either announce a big IP, or simply price-drop, the day that Sony or Microsoft announce their new consoles.
