The D pad actually looks unchanged from the Wii 's Classic Controller Pro.

Ok I will admit it, it's a copy of the 360 controller. It is what it is, and what's done is done.
On a more positive note, the 360 controller rules! I don't own a 360, but I own two 360 controllers. I have always thought it brilliant that the 360 controller uses USB ports (perfect for emulators and PC gaming in general).

I think that the main reason Nintendo is doing this is because EA and Ubisoft's E3 conferences are scheduled before Nintendo's.
Everything has been so "hush hush" about the WiiU, Nintendo probably has to announce some things first, before 3rd party devs can show off games for it.
