i could build a pc that would run crysis on max settings for around £800, add a 22" monitor and your up to a grand max! so in the US you could probably build that for around $1800, thats significatly less than your $5000 wouldnt you say?

why does it bother you what price the ps3 is?? if it cost $2000 and i was comfortable with paying that what difference does that make to you?
even with the lack of games i think you'll find it hard to find a ps3 owner who doesnt think they got their moneys worth.
edit : segamer, you own a game store yet you PAID for a console?? strange. perhaps your right, but i have about 10 friends with 360's and about half of them are going to be trading them in for ps3's once MGS is ...
also, i think you might be confussed as to what 'quality control' is, its not software produced by 3rd party companies for a start.

i have a monitor at work that already does that res, 2550x1600 i think, i like the upscaling tho, very nice!
